Nah you've got this wrong too. PG is capable of doing A LOT more offensively - it's not particularly close. Only 44% of PG's 26 ppg are assisted and 63% of Kawhi's 21 ppg are assisted, which again is partly down to the Spurs motion offense and all the ball movement that's going on. So while it's probably not a exact reflection of Kawhi's ability to create points for himself - he still isn't asked to create for himself as often as well as dealing with all the defensive attention that PG gets. It's wrong for you to suggest that he can when i) he hasn't proven it yet ii) he doesn't have the ball-handling/driving ability of PG

I've watched every Spurs game, except the Memphis game, and Kawhi has demonstrated the ability to do everything that PG has done. My initial post in this thread alluded to the fact that PG handles the ball more and has a higher usage rate so of course he's going to have a higher PPG and APG.

Also this whole ball handling/driving ability thing is so vastly overblown and overrated it's ridiculous. PG is a CRISPER ball handler than Kawhi, that's not something anybody will dispute, but Kawhi can get to the cup when he wants and he finishes at the rim rather efficiently too. Not only that, homie also is a more efficient and better shooter than PG.

Listen, you can't find ONE Spurs fan who is trying to discredit PG in order to big up Kawhi. We don't have to do that. Kawhi's trophy case speaks for himself. It just seems that YOU ALL are so quick to discredit what Kawhi is doing in order to big up PG. That's where we're always going to butt heads. Both are valuable and irreplaceable on their respective teams .

I don't have an issue at somebody saying they'll take PG over Kawhi. Just don't try and act like Kawhi is Bobby Simmons cause I ain't letting that shyt fly and I don't care who I gotta go to war with about that

I can respect that.

But here's the thing you must remember, which again taking nothing away from Kawhi because he's now standing by himself - but he was born with a silver spoon in his mouth getting traded to San Antonio. There's a good chance you don't see the player before you if he'd stayed in Indiana (although that work ethic he showed at SDSU might prove otherwise). PG built himself up from nothing and was expected to carry this team as the #1 option when he was 22/23 - leading them to a 49-win season and a 55-win season with two ECF appearances. He's been there and done this shyt as the main guy - Kawhi has only taken the training wheels off at the back end of last season.

It's not as simple as PG has a higher usage rate/time of possession - therefore of course he's going to have better production - as if Kawhi could replicate the same. Nah. PG has been in this position for the last three seasons. While Kawhi has shown an incredible amount of progression, he's only new to this shyt and it's dishonest if you think he can do the shyt PG is doing now if he was put in the same position.

And he better be the more efficient player, not only has he been playing in one of the best systems in the modern era - which is predicated on players getting the best possible shot, but he doesn't have near the amount of defensive attention PG has nor does he have the offensive workload. Throw Kawhi on a team where he'd have to generate all his production, provide buckets for his teammates, put the team on his back in all situations, and be depended on to put up 19/20+ shots a game to put his team in a winning position and you'll see his efficiency drop.

He's definitely not a better shooter than PG either. He hasn't had a high enough volume of jumpshots in his career to properly gauge where he's at.

i'm just here to man up and pick up my L :yeshrug:

I do think it was a fluke game tho :manny:

I watched the game and Kawhi did what Kawhi does defensively....makes you work EVERY possession. PG was missing a few open shots that you would think he normally makes and he also SHOULD of had damn near 10 plus assist but offensively, outside of Monte, the Pacers suck offensively.

PG was disappointing defensively though, Kawhi was fukkin cookin him

Now who else wanna fukk with Hollywood Court?
And they told him he couldnt shoot

"I would like to win games and be a champion"

Honestly speaking he couldn't shoot coming into the league, dude was a Power Forward at SDSU.

His transformation from a dude that couldn't shoot & was pegged as a 3/D guy only to basically top 10 player is just :mindblown:

Not only could he not shoot...he was one of the worst shooters in college basketball that year period :mjlol:

Dude had 3 abilities...run jump dunk...

Turned that shyt into a top 10 player right now and arguably the best two way player in the league...

Chip Engelland aka the GOAT shooting coach does it again...:russ:

fukk it...sign Anthony Bennet and do it again Chip :russ:

It's probably the biggest jump in skill I've ever seen, he was basically a blank slate with high work ethic and drive, and now he's a top tier SF.

If I owned a team like the Sixers I'm throwing millions at Engelland, the proof is in the pudding.
