It's impossible to look at a video and know what is an acl tear and not. Dejounte Murray tore his acl, got home, woke up, and started doing exercises and shyt and calling spurs players talking about he was straight and would be back at practice tomorrow and nothing was wrong with his leg. Spurs sent some of their medical staff to his house like :gucci: the fukk are you talking about? Dude said he was gone off the pain killers they gave him :mjlol:. Said he woke up the next day like "yep, my shyt is definitely torn":mjlol:.
Shut up :hhh:

they’ve already done imaging; if it was major tear or blow out they would’ve seen it. They’re trying to determine the severity of the sprain.

The Spurs and Kawhi had both reached the point where neither one could move forward with the other.

Kawhi had played 9 games and then was out with an injury that was not getting any better because he had is own doctors treating him and NOT the Spurs doctors. Every single year Kawhi did not have his own medical team he played a vast majority of the games. First year he got his own medical team he played 9. Then wanted the supermax. This is bad business, it doesn't matter what the business is, you NEVER pay anybody the most money you can pay them when they have done the least amount of work for you. You won't be in any business very long operating that way. And the Spurs always took the stance that his quad issue was degenerative meaning it is only going to get worse over time. Seems like they were right since Kawhi did not play 1 back to back game for 3 straight seasons.

On the other hand, at the time Kawhi was easily the best "two way player in the game" if not the outright best player in the nba period. When you are at best the absolute best at what you do or at worst top 5 at what you do, you get paid the most money you can get paid point blank period end of discussion. He was the franchise player. He was the reason they didn't fall off a cliff after Timmy Tony Manu left. He was part of the reason why they were even able to get an elite free agent like LMA. He was the reason why they were championship contenders. He was the reason why the spurs only really needed to tweak the edges of their roster because every night they knew Kawhi was going to give them 20 something on extremely efficient shooting AND unless the other team had KD, Harden or Bron he was going to put that player in a strait jacket and for the most part any spurs game was going to be over somewhere between the 2nd and 3rd quarter where they go up by 12 and just put it on cruise control. He had been had his quad issue for years so what if it flared up again, you work through that for your star player. Uncle Dennis wanted a front office job, give him some useless shyt to do if it keeps Kawhi happy. The spurs made Kawhi's best friend an assistant coach you mean to tell me they couldn't give uncle dennis some in title only job and let him puff his chest out? If you Kawhi everybody else is getting paid don't matter if they hurt or not, so should I. Everybody else is able to put their friends and relatives on to some sort of job off of them being a great basketball player, so should I. Every other team is bending over backwards for the franchise player, so should mine. He proved it when he went to Toronto where the entire city was down to get on its knees and suck him off in front of camera's to get him to stay.

Spurs as a business can't be paying people the most money after they did the least work, it sets a bad precedent. Kawhi as a player can't be on a team who won't give him a super max deal over 1 injury filled year after all of the years he carried a roster that was stuck between end of their career HOF and rookie contract players drafted in the late 20's. In a situation like that a breakup is inevitable.

Clippers in a tough spot. They going to be on the hook to pay a guy 200 million who is racking up leg injuries...
Spurs were reluctant to pay him for years before the Pachulia incident

And then they traded him for absolute garbage

Ineptitude at its finest

He was literally on a max contract after his rookie deal :dwillhuh:

They literally paid him the most amount of money the nba would allow them to pay him :dwillhuh:

Wouldn't call what they traded him for trash but they could have done MUCH better than Poeltl and a pick that ended up being Keldon...

Some team would have gotten desperate enough to risk it all for one year of board man...

I thought I remember Kawhi and his team wanting the Supermax and the Spurs being reluctant to give it to him for a couple years, no?

I may be misremembering this situation, though :manny:
