It really just dawned on me that in OKC he was babied and protected by the media...

Cause some clown shyt like this never would have gotten out when he was their...

I never bought into that "this team will combust" talk...i figured if they don't win a title it will be for basketball reasons...but now...man i don't know...

isn't going to the Spurs still the easy way out though. They won 67 games and had the best point differential in the league

i don't get the rationale of him joining there being ok, or barely anyone giving Aldridge crap for joining the Spurs after they knocked his team out the playoffs back in 2014 where he got shut down by Spliiter & Duncan.

Portland was never an actual championship caliber team...unlike OKC...so i don't know a single person in the world who thought the blazers stood a chance against the spurs...

And...LMA has family out here so him coming to the Spurs was also about a life decision and not a basketball one...

He Destroyed this golden state team. He will realize it by the end of this season, he made one of the biggest mistakes EVER in signing with golden state.

Not only will he not win a championship, his career is PERMANENTLY tarnished. Golden State has NO CHANCE of winning a championship with their current roster. NO CHANCE.

i wouldn't say they have no chance... but their strength was their depth. and they lost that.

Yeah, KD was better that who they lost but they lost MANY good players.

they essentially have 3 players that do the same thing.

granted, Klay is a defensive guy & steph can take folks off the dribble

I feel like Steve Kerr will be exposed the most this season.

Portland wasn't given a chance in that series, but they would have been much more competitive if their best player actually played up to his standards. Then the following season in a contract year he underperforms against Memphis, all the stuff starts the come out about his frustration with the organization.

Locale is a reason Durant choose the Warriors over OKC

Durant is actually a lot different from Klay & Curry. They seem similar but he is so much more versatile defensively, gets to the free throw line at a good rate (Curry & Klay do not, which is why they struggle to get points when their shots aren't falling) and does a much better job creating offense for himself in isolation. He also makes it impossible for a team to hide players or cheat off him (LeBron basically ignored Barnes in the Finals to play free safety)

If there was ever a player who was born to star in a small ball lineup, it's Kevin Durant. He is perfect for this style of play & it's exactly why they got him. The problem is how much does Kerr really lean on that lineup (he's hesitant to play Green a lot at center because it wears on him, but he better scrap that in the playoffs) and just the team gaining chemistry together.

Keeping it 100.

I saw this on my timeline and had the :dwillhuh: face.

Who in the fukk ever said Durant didn't have the drive?
Maybe nobody but I'm not sure what the issue is. Athletes have ALWAYS used negative statements to fuel them to get better during their workouts; we all gotta find motivation from somewhere even if it's made up. I don't even see how Durant could get criticism for doing this shyt, other than it being popular to pick on him right now, or just the fact that this shyt was taped for ESPN/social media. Jordan spent his whole career being fueled by stuff people said about him and often times shyt he just made up that people said about him. Shaq too. Kobe too. Isiah too. All of the greats, essentially, have done what Durant is doing in this clip.
