I know that but holding him accountable legally requires physical evidence. Diddy isn't getting charged unless Keefe has something other than his word which isn't reliable.
Zip gave them the pistol out of a stash spot in his car, while Foxy Brown lurked nearby, was the story Keefe told. Would think they had their own pistols, out of a dozen or so Southsiders, since they drove to Vegas, but maybe they didn't, for whatever reason.

But I highly doubt that last part of you saying it's a team of wet behind the ears detectives working this case now.
Homicide detectives are generally in their 30's. Do 10 years and move on. Mostspend time in at least 2 or 3 others units AFTER street patrol. Narcotics, Sex Crimes, whatever. Then, homicide. Homicide is the fast track to the supervisory roles, which are less running and gunning, 4:00 AM wake up calls and hitting the street to go look at a dead body at 2:45 AM.
So you do 10 in homicide and by age 45 or so, have a different more elevated roles. So the DA's and the detectives who worked the case probably arent there anymore. They would be in their 60's. Or 70's.
