Ya'all won't be able to deal with reality. Kobe managed to sell out his farewell tour. Lebron sells out damn near every game EVERY season. :umad:

"Interestingly, James sells out even more so on the road, perhaps because he’s more of a novelty when traveling. Over the past six seasons — his last two with the Cavs and all four with the Heat — James’s teams away capacity has averaged 99.5 percent."

Trying to Measure the ‘LeBron Effect’ on Game Attendance

Lebron's teams have led the league in road attendance 6 of the last 7 years....EVERY year except Kobe's farewell tour, even with the super-Warriors.

And then there's TV. Where the hell the Kobe games on this list? I thought that the WCF was the "real Finals", right? Most-watched playoff games are ALWAYS Lebron games, and that's even though ya'all claiming he has a cakewalk.

And he sells out anyway, even over the Warriors so what does that say? :stopitslime:

It's mind-blowing. They keep denying actual facts like these, then think anyone will take them seriously when it comes to matters of opinion.

So I guess Steph is a bigger draw than Bron

Have you even been to more than 15 NBA games?

I've seen Bron & Kob in person & it's not even close who excited the crowd more

Terrible reasoning. I've heard it all. Now nikkas blaming 55 inch tv's and internet :mjlol:. It's odd, the biggest boxing matches in your lifetime occurred during the "$100 PPV/55" tv/Internet streaming" era, Green Bay vs Dallas just became the most watched playoff game ever....in the 55" tv era, the most watched college football game was Texas vs USC.....during this 55" tv era, Cubs vs Indians game 7 was just the most watched baseball game (a dying sport in popularity terms) in 25 years.....during this 55" tv era. It can't be both. Are you saying this era handicaps viewership when trying to explain away Jordan's popularity? Or am I dreaming and not seeing some of the most viewed sporting events are taking place right before your very eyes in the era you claimed hindered such happenings?

The thread says in NBA history. Not more than Kobe.

MJ's teams have 5 of the 6 highest rated finals since 74.

The largest attended NBA game of all time was a Bulls game in Atlanta with more than 62,000 in attendance.

Cavs led the league in road attendance averaging 19,021 a game.

2016-2017 NBA Attendance - National Basketball Association - ESPN

97 Bulls averaged 20,059 a game.

1996-1997 NBA Attendance - National Basketball Association - ESPN

You're talking about big-stakes one-off playoff games and trying to compare them to regular season? :childplease:

The fact that there is far more competition in entertainment isn't even an opinion - it's known fact.

"The business of sports is increasingly moving away from the seats and onto the couch, with multibillion-dollar broadcast deals eclipsing revenue from tickets sales and stadium concessions. You could argue that's even truer for an event like an all-star game, a once-a-year extravaganza that's more entertainment than competition. Sellouts are almost built-in, while there's no guarantee that people will tune in given the myriad options on a Sunday night."

"Drops in ratings throughout all of television are prime evidence of the degree to which consumption is changing. Streaming means fewer traditional and DVR viewers; Internet piracy means fewer viewers watching ads. Due to the emergence of Netflix and Amazon Prime, not to mention independent online productions, viewers have more and more choices when selecting shows. As a result, the very definition of a hit has changed drastically. The 2015-2016 season claims few blockbusters, and even those hits hardly amass the viewership that past successes garnered. NBC’s Blindspot—one of this year’s top shows, according to Slateboasts an audience of eight million; in 1995, The Single Guypulled in 20 million viewers and was still canceled after two seasons. According to NBC, Blindspot’s ratings double when mobile streams and delayed DVR viewings are added, but even an audience of 16 million is lower than the 20 million mark that didn’t cut it for The Single Guy."

The Netflix Effect: Television Ratings in the Internet Age

"In an age of fractured audiences, guaranteed viewers are more valuable (and expensive) than ever. As younger viewers abandon linear television and cable subscribers DVR their favorite shows, live sports has become traditional television’s most valuable property for advertisers, the keystone holding up the grand arc of the cable bundle.

But perhaps television’s safest bet isn’t as safe as people thought. Football ratings are down double digits across the board, and the pain is spread across networks and nights. Ratings are down on Sunday afternoons on Fox and CBS, on Sunday nights on NBC, and on Monday nights on ESPN....

the traditional television industry is in structural decline. TV ratings are down an astonishing 40 percent among teenagers and younger twentysomethings, who are critical to sports viewership. ESPN viewership was already declining long before Donald Trump began to dominate the news and entertainment landscape in 2016."

Exactly he has one of the ugliest games in the NBA the ugliest game for a superstar player
Do your dumbass self a favor and read the evidence provided in the thread instead of just using your shyt opinion. LeBron IS the NBA, TV ratings basically tank when he's not in the picture. During Kobes prime the NBA was bordering on ratings irrelevance. LeBron is the one who reignited league interest.

Wait a minute.....they just started having big stakes one off playoff games when the 55" tv and internet came along? You're talking loud but not saying nothing with all those links you posted. Like I said, it can't be both. It's sports....if it's worth it, people will watch. You keep jumping thru hoops to discredit MJ, to the point you're blaming 55" tvs, but wanna backdoor your way outta it on Bron's end with all these excuses. All those events I mentioned happened during an era you whined about. That wasn't the Packers and Dallas first game. That wasnt the first Rose Bowl played. That wasn't the first championship boxing match on PPV. The individuals in the game brought the eyeballs out. Period. Bron don't bring eyeballs to the set like MJ did. No shame in that. Oh....and in a time where tickets are the highest they've ever been, customers having access to 55" tv's and multiple games at home at their finger tips, OSU vs Michigan just set an attendance record for their regular season game. So no matter how you slice it....tv and live records are being set in this era you're railing against to prop up Bron.

No elite handle & no flair

No flair :mjlol:

Only on the Coli is seeing ungodly athletic phenom fly down the court at super speeds and dunk on people with reckless abandon while also being a willing playmaker with court vision reminiscent of Magic.

Not only that, he's a streaky shooter that can turn hot in an instant and took ignorant shots all the damn time before Spo beat it out of him to make him a more efficient player.
