I always thought the "Ether" beat was kinda trash.
Here's the thing. I've explained this before. I actually like "Takeover" better. But it doesn't matter, because Jay obviously felt like he lost. So what I, Kendrick Lamar, or The Coli say is kinda irrelevant.
And please don't get on some dumb shyt like "what do you mean, he felt like he lost?". We've all heard the audio. I cannot in good faith ever give Jay the W after how he sounded on the radio, because he didn't even sound like he believed he'd won.
I have no idea why Jay let the song get to him that bad. It was a terrible move to go on the radio like that. I'm sure Nas wasabout some of the shyt Jay was saying, but he went on the radio and
at it. Like it was a joke to him. Jay went on the radio in shambles. I've never heard him sound like that before that, or since then.
Fred.
I'm starting to think are actually a parody of a Jigga warrior. You can't possibly be serious with this shytNah Ether was some of the worst writing ever
Like atleast Jay had proper structure in his verse towards Nas
Nas' shyt was all over the fckin place
Its simple...Ether is loved because Nas was the underdog period
And the only reason Nas is even relevant to this day is because Jay is still relevant
Nas' career hangs on the coattails of Jay
these 90's babies find out that Nas was the closest to ending Jay(who continues to portray himself as the succesor and top guy in hip hop) and then they flock to him and impute some image that is the foil of Jay's image to Nas and they fall in love with this image.
Fact and point...without Jay Nas is nothing
