I still can't understand how people say Ether wasn't a good beat, for christ sake, a bunch of amatuers use that beat for freestyles and the moment the song starts everyone goes crazy! Takeover if you really think about it, was just a straight rip off from the original, there wasn't much done to change the beat period.

Nah Ether was some of the worst writing ever
Like atleast Jay had proper structure in his verse towards Nas
Nas' shyt was all over the fckin place
Its simple...Ether is loved because Nas was the underdog period
And the only reason Nas is even relevant to this day is because Jay is still relevant
Nas' career hangs on the coattails of Jay
these 90's babies find out that Nas was the closest to ending Jay(who continues to portray himself as the succesor and top guy in hip hop) and then they flock to him and impute some image that is the foil of Jay's image to Nas and they fall in love with this image.
