More of a indictment that there’s a lack of real stars in Hip Hop right now
And the actual stars aren’t putting out much
And the actual stars aren’t putting out much
What does this even mean. Since when are we judging rap solely off mainstream shyt or borderline political shyt like "bububu how many features does he do" lmao. fukkouttahere.
Kendrick had a massive 2024 and 2025. And yet there was still room for rappers to make noise and for the most part they didn't do shyt. Future teased dropping all year and didn't. Cole talked some shyt and didn't drop. Damn near the entire west coast was silent instead of hitting up Mustard for a summer banger. And none of this has to do with labels allegedly sidelining rap. If you have a hit, the label is going to spend.
Biggest destabilizer in 2025 rap was Thugger slandering Gunna and not allowing nikkas to enjoy his shyt. Gunna still had a good year, capping it off with a sold out arena stop. But ATL would have been better off if they made peace so Gunna could continue writing shyt for Thug and Baby. Without that they both fell off a cliff and we didn't get a transition to whoever the next noteworthy ATL rapper is (via features).
He dropped a hit album November 2024 that has songs amongst the best selling this year. Billboard had to change the rules to get Luther off the charts. How much new music did Duckworth drop in the year 2025? Streets is starving. The streets ain't asking for thinkpieces, they want the guy in the #1 spot to keep things interesting and keep the streets fed.
Kendrick been carrying the game for more than a decade from a pure quality angle.. you now see what happens when he doesnt drop music...dude is alone at the top and there isnt anybody interesting enough for the 2nd spot.
Drake and Cole are not interesting enough.
Duckworth has always been the #1 since he came out.Duckworth only got the #1 spot in May 2024
Duckworth as the king of rap is bad for the genre
And is globally credited as the artist that revived Jazz music in the 2010sDuckworth has always been the #1 since he came out.
He got the longest charting rap album of all time with his debut album, the highest rated rap album of all time with his sophomore, the 2nd highest rated rap album of all time with his 3rd major album, the 2nd biggest rap album of the 21st century in terms of pure charts performance with that same 3rd album. He also got the 2 best selling rap songs of all time, as well as the longest charting rap song ever with a completely different song.
And he been praised, by musicians, people with vast musical knowledge and co, as quite possibly the only mainstream rapper to ever have such a great understanding of music in general. Duckworth as the king of rap has been a blessing for music in general. Not a surprise his recent tour is forcing the industry to redefine what touring should consist of.

Stop acting like Drake died. He's free to drop and turn up the game. He won't though, because he can't.

Strong year for rap, which has been the case for well over a decade now. It hasn't been a strong year for losers who clout chase off what twitter headlines tell them. This forum is full of dudes who hate anything with an 808 yet they're telling YOU that the absence of ATL rappers this year is hurting the genre lol. You don't even fukk with that shyt, let's be real.

We don't need Kendrick album in 2026, he already gave us a universally acclaimed album in 2025, and we good to eat for the next few years with that output aloneWe aren't gonna do this
Drake ran rap from 2010 to May 2024
Duckworth is in the #1 spot now and his output is trash
If you nikkas don't get an album in 2026, I will simply![]()
