Not hating but, Kendrick is hands down one of the most overrated rappers in Hiphop history. :wow::snoop: and also J.cole.

There are 3 reasons why:

1.) People of this generation (especially young kids) have had no absolutely exposure to real hiphop from the 90's. Because if they did, "Kendrick" & "Greatest" would never be in the same sentence.... neither would J.cole.

2.) The rap game is so watered down right now, so of course "Kendrick" or "J.cole" would be considered "deep"..... That's only cause the rap game is a fukking puddle. :francis:
But when you look beyond the surface you'll realize these nikkas are only 3ft deep especially compared to shyt nikkas was talkin bout back in the 80's and 90's.
They aint kickin no real knowledge, or shyt that will transform Black people & our culture.
They just throw in a few "Black Lives Matter" quotes here and there, and references to "The struggle" to keep the fake woke instagram crowed happy, then go home to their non-black wives while the culture continues to fall and get infiltrated by outsiders.

3.) It's easy to sound deep to stupid people (90% of the population). :yeshrug:

Hey I remember you, you used to stalk some of my threads. But that's a good post, I agree with all of this :salute:

Edit: :whoa: I'm not hating.... I'm just simply saying, if you know your hiphop there is no way you can possibly classify Kendrick or J.cole as a "Greatest". Of course they can be the greatest amongst TRASH. But J.cole nor Kendrick would not be relevant rappers back in the day. Lyrically/and musically they aint got it.....especially when compared to nikkas from the 90's. Let's keep it 100.

Good Kid Maad city had some dope ass tracks though. :ehh:

No directed at you but touching on the subject

This is why hip hop is fukked up, all this bytching and crying about this generation and the 90's.

Well guess what every generation have their GOAT's and the next generation comes along.

Stop the fukkin bytching, just because you don't like a muthafukka and yours ain't bringing

In the the late 70's - Early 80's it was Melle Mel, Caz, Moe Dee, Spoonie G

Mid 80's - Run, LL Cool J, T La Rock

Mid 80-Late 80's It was Krs 1, Rakim, Kane, G Rap

Early 90's Ice Cube, D.O.C., Chuck D

And it goes on, nobody but this generation always bytching and crying.

But Emcees always past the torch and each generation there's special artist that join the ranks

I agree at times

I never wanna hear Kendrick Lamar on a track like

He sounds cringeworthy over that type of production to me. He doesn't have the charisma or "swag" to pull it off to me.

But then again I love lyricism and he's an extremely talented lyricist so he's good overall in my book.

Hell, my favorite rapper eLZhi lacks in the "charisma" department too but he makes up for it in his actual lyricism.

If you want charisma go listen to Ludacris or Busta:yeshrug:

He needed to speed his flow up, he was trying to stay in pocket with the beat too much.

Ok this is gonna be a long response. A nikka took an ADHD med earlier to get some work done. And this shyt still aint wore off yet. :whoo:

But anyway your response is EXACTLY why hiphop is fukked up, and why Black folks as a whole are fukked up.
We have no respect for the O.G.s, and we don't preserve the roads that were laid out before us.

In Rock n Roll genre's they make it a PRIORITY preserve the culture like it's the Holy Bible.
They don't let outsiders into their shyt, and they have respect for the O.G.s who came before them, and make it their job to preserve the core essence of the culture
that was laid forth by the O.G's.

If you tried to start a Heavy Metal band today, but don't know shyt about Metallic, Gun n Roses, etc etc those white folks will look at you like you are crazy, and tell you to GET THE fukk OUT AND NEVER COME BACK!! If you are unauthentic they straight up ban you from the culture.
:camby: In Hiphop we allow all kind of "outsiders" and jokes in our shyt, which is why the culture is what is today.

Also do you notice that people who listen to rock music only wear vintage band tee's? Wanna Why?
Cause they respect & pay homage to the O.G.s and to the culture itself.
Even if they are 12 yeas old, them white boys know their shyt.

Tell me how often you see Black kids wearing Brand Nubian, Tribe Called Quest, Dead Prez, Wu-Tang, De La Soul, Boogie Down Production, or Outkast tee's?
:ld: rarely, if ever.

I understand and agree the sound of music has to "evolve" with the times, nobody want's to hear that Boom Bap shyt in 2018.
Things change, things evolve....
:ehh:
But what's going on with Hiphop is NOT evolution it's devolution....(and it's devolving us as a society.) :dame:

With all that being said Kendrick is cool, but to classify him in that "Greatest" category is nonsense. Kendrick Lamar being considered a "Great" is simply a sign of the times.

This generation says he's the "Greatest" cause they simply have no standard to judge him by.
:francis: You can't understand today, and or plan for tomorrow if you don't understand what happened yesterday.

Yo meds ain't wore off I see, when you quote me, quote me right

go drink some warm milk and layoff the pills.

I said every generation have their greats. You either can accept or not.

Before Michael Jackson, there was James Brown, before James Brown there was Sam Cooke, before Sam Cooke there was Jackie Wilson.

Black Folks always kept it moving

You listen to the white man, saying black don't respect the past.

We respect the past but we don't live in the past

Breh this generation is easily the worst, whether you like it or not. This is probably because we have no respect for Hip-Hop legends.

That's why your dumbass thinks Kendrick is the savior.

Lil Uzi Vert
Lil Yachty
that 69 fakkit
xxxxxxxxxxxxxtentacion

Travis Scott
21 Savage
Kodak Black
Migos

cardi b
Nicki Minaj
Any of the Asap Mob

if you listen, enjoy these, you're opinion is irrelevant to me.

All of them have made good enjoyable music at one time or another. The rest of that list is trash, minus Uzi Vert getting good beats
