Kendrick Lamar is being sued over a sample that was used on the memorable track “Keisha’s Song” off his 2011 independent LP, Section.80. The accuser is Eric Woolfson of the platinum group The Alan Parsons Project. Woolfson’s representation, Woolfsongs Limited is accusing K. Dot of using parts of their song “Old and Wise” for “Keisha’s Song,” Kendrick’s graphic tale of a young prostitute, without their consent. According to the suit, Woolfsongs attempted to resolve the matter with Lamar’s representation in April of this year but were unable to reach an agreement do to the defendant’s unresponsiveness. The plaintiff is reportedly seeking compensatory damages.

Kendrick is busy working on the follow-up to his platinum selling major-label debut Good Kid M.A.A.D. City.

Was Section 80 ever available to purchase?
And if not, does he (Eric Woolfson) still have a case?
:camby: wasnt suing 3 years ago when the song came out and he wasnt a platinum artist
Well duh. Kendrick had a lil buzz at that time but nowhere near his level of fame now. He probably didn't get a hold of the Kendrick song until this year.
shyt like this happens all the time.
A rapper comes out with a song when he's virtually unknown, then once he's famous gets sued years later.

More disgruntled old out-of-touch CACs who realize their time is up, yet don't realize someone sampling them is actually EXPOSURE
