This was my fear in 1) kendrick becoming an even bigger and more mainstream icon, and 2) People just running with the narrative Mr Morale was just this garbage album it wasn’t as good as this previous albums but that’s bc his previous albums are all classics or in that conversation. It’s still a deep, rich album. So i really hope he’s not on some ‘truthfully I wanna rhyme like common sense, but…’

I like the album but I don’t want this to be the norm. It’s a quasi-watered down Kendrick. He should NOT cater to fans who want/need ‘bops’

Reality is people listen to music to be entertained more times than not

If the song hadn’t been named Gloria I would’ve been convinced the entire time the first listen he was talking about Whitney.

Kendrick is the best “twist ending” writer in Hip Hop history. Nas is slightly ahead for overall storytelling but when it comes to being the Jordan Peele/ M.Night Shyamalan of this rap shyt Kendrick has the crown

Damn I was hoping squabble up would get it first week. Then tv off. Having 3 different number 1's in consecutive weeks woulda been crazy

Squabble Up is about to hit Number 1. Performing that is a given.

I’d say Luther with SZA and TV Off with Mustard have great chances as well.


Performers get 15 minutes max for their Halftime performance. So if he does a medley of the early hits thats Money Trees/Alright/Humble/DNA maybe Loyalty with Rihanna. Then that will leave him 6-7 minutes for the more recent stuff. Luther fits in real well then Squabble Up can lead into TV OFF which could lead into the grand finale of Not Like Us (Still not sure how he censors the song lol)

And thats not even taking into account he might drop ANOTHER project between now and February.
