Bay Area rappers really dropped the ball after the 2012-2014 wave with sage, iamsu etc. This is going to be the third wave where that bay sound is mainstream again for a minute, they really need to capatalize on it. I know most Bay Area rappers don’t strive to be national but it would be nice. I would say Larry is probably the most known out the bay at this point

nikkas was putting out records doing shows selling merch...idk what else they were supposed to do....when Nef the Pharaoh dropped "Big Tymin" that shyt should have been out of here... Then a couple years later SOB X RBE was on fire....so I can't say the artist aren't doing their job.. But it is what it is...the bay has been on that get it out the mud shyt from the beginning of time

As much as I love Kendrick's music I got to say it's funny as hell that at the same time preaching about wanting peace with all the LA gangs he at the same time says he'll never have a truce with Drake over Drake putting money on the street for information and that might bring violence towards him or his family. Seems hypocritical as hell considering a lot of the gangs beefing have had family members hurt or killed by rival gangs.

He touches on this issue in the last verse of reincarnated.

I feel you, I think a few of them coulda branched out of the bay sound and become more all around rappers especially iamsu but the music game is a crapshoot
