I get that this thread is full of stans who don't listen to anything besides Kendrick but lets be real. It's Drakeo's flow. 40 doesn't even rap like that. And this isn't even the first time he's done it. Rich Spirit and Purple Hearts off Mr Morale are Drakeo shyt too. On GNX Peekaboo and especially Hey Now are super obvious. LA been sounding like Drakeo for a minute so it's not surprising and I'm not shytting on Kendrick. But I'm tired of this fukking stan shyt and all these fake posters who don't know shyt about west coast music or rap saying wild shyt on this forum. We get it, you're the Kendrick digital team. Whatever.

We get it. Youre unfamiliar with E-40 and west coast music. We get it.

Dog ain't nothing about drakeo unique. I'm from the west. I grew up in it. I never once listened to drakeo and thought he sounded original. He essentially sounded like every other westcoast street rapper that came before him. Just with a little twist. People trying to say it's not the accent it's the nasal sounding voice :mjlol: .....Kendrick got a nasal sounding voice too.

Ain't nothing about drakeo unique cause if you really grew up in the west all that slang and shyt he used was in the neighborhoods long before he ever put it on a song. Drakeo got his whole style from the OG's and real gangsters he grew up around. Muthafukkers trying to treat drakeo like he was Shakespeare:dead:....like he was out there creating brand new words and slang that have never been heard before. He wasn't. He got all that from the neighborhood like every other rapper in existence. The romanticism of drakeo is some of the funniest shyt ever. Dude was not on that level to be hyping him like this. At all.
Tbh drakeo was just influenced by the likes of sb, e40, twiz... lol and kendrick literally gave them credit. Lol at thinking dot had drakeo in mind :dead:

Thats how you know someone doesnt know shyt about WC music.

Here's the message I was looking for when referencing GNX. The sound you hear on GNX is from E-40 and the Bay Area sound. I hear TV Off and Peekaboo in this.
Exactly. This is early e-40 and sb.

I'm not saying Drakeo didn't come up with slang that found it's way around LA. What I'm saying is I think Kendrick took more influence from E-40 rather than "stealing" from Drakeo.

He’s gotten some influence no doubt but the only thing off Rich Spirit and Purple Hearts that sound like Drakeo is the “ugh” adlib on rich spirit hook.

Kendrick has mentioned E40 as an influence, I'm not denying that in total. But if you don't hear Drakeo on GNX you're lying. The cadence, the off rhyme pattern, even the types of beats on there...it's clear as fukking day.

It's all from E-40, Andre Nickatina and 4T when they first came out...

The beats? so you're saying another LA artist was influenced by Bay production?
Saying Kendrick was influenced by Drakeo is like saying whoever does the alien voice is influenced by Kendrick, when we all know it comes from Andre 3000 and also the Bay.

It all sounds like most local LA street rappers, which was the intent, and the reason he featured a bunch of local artists.

Drakeo's flow wasn't unique, he acted like it was and dissed basically everyone in LA claiming they stole his flow, but the truth is that flow has been popular in LA and is originally a bay area flow.

Drakeo's influence is bay area shyt, but people dont want to admit that.
Exactly...and thats why the west never respected Drakeo like that, because people were rapping like that before him and his style 100% comes from the Bay.

If you're hearing some Drakeo on GNX then I'm afraid you haven't heard much West Coast music outside of the typical Dre/Snoop/Quik stuff
