everytime i listen to songs from it i got nostalgic feelings about early 90's west coast specifically boyz n the hood

the whole album has a boyz n the hood/menace to society vibe i think,especially the skits,its like they take u straight to his hood and into one of the movies

but it isnt grroundbreaking in the sense of him starting a new trend or him revamping a music genre..but the music and theme go so well together, i have rarely seen such creativity from a rookie..yes people have done the story theme before, masta ace, sicky fingaz but both lacked the subject matter and true lyrical ability that kendrick has.
