I never got that "wow, I'm listening to greatness right now" feeling with this album, and I think Kendrick is certainly capable of exactly that... nothing on here gave me that like when I first heard "World's An Addiction", "Stay" or "Unforgivable Youth", "Form Follows Function" etc.

What did you think of No Love Deep Web? Was it as good as the Money Store to you?

IMO they're equal in terms of quality. I can see myself listening to NLDW more than the Money Store in the future though because it focuses on one direction throughout the album...that dark, warped sound, which was what I wanted from them (album wise). Come and get me, black dice and hunger games still have me whenever I listen to them. Hunger games especially because it sounds like a hip hop take on grime music, which I've never really heard before. If you've never listened to grime music before, listen to tracks like dj wonder's what riddim and you'll see what i'm getting at.

I mean what's so good about it ? Yeah he's spitting his guts off, lyricism is out of this world

but the flow is meh, he's not riding the beat, beat is boring, song overall is a fine lyrical exercise but poor musically

I'll take Money Trees and many other tracks over World's An Addiction any day of the week

I never understood the hype for that Nas album, some tracks are great, don't get me wrong but there's so many tracks were he's just spitting and doesn't care about the form of the song and goes off using whatever flow whether it fits the beat or not

this right here though... this is such a refined product, every beats, every sounds, every skits serves its purpose, there's an harmony to it that I could never find on LIG

Nah I cosign you 100%, of all the songs to mention on LIG I can't believe duke picked World's An Addiction, that song is in my bottom 3 on that album, I haven't even listened to it in full to hear what he's saying cuz I hit skip after the first few seconds every time.

Could've done without Capt. simp Drake though

Given that Captain Simp put him on Take Care and took him on tour, I was prepared for a Drake Simp Session on this album

Agreed though on the cohesiveness of the album. It's one of the very few albums that plays like a movie in the sense that the interludes and skits in the songs serve a purpose.

That's what puts it over the edge comparison to "The Documentary". Documentary is a great album in its own regard, but given the story telling throughout the 12 tracks, being able to tie everything together, and Kendrick's lyrical skills, it beats "The Documentary" in my book.
