That's fair, but I just want to know if nobody cares in the big scheme of things then what projects or albums do people actually care about that has dropped the last 2 years?

I think it's easy to say nobody is listening or cares about music that you don't like, but the fact is that I don't hear people talking about projects that came out before or at the same time as TPAB
Nothing. People don't stay with music for very long anymore.

Really weird seeing some black posters here so angry about this album. If you don't like the album fine, whatever. But the anger and dismissive nature is very weird, given the sound and narrative of the album. It's a 2015 rap album that is dominated by jazz alongside some funk and spoken word. It doesn't compromise for commercial success and ultimately has no radio hits. It features songs about the exploitation of black talent and colorism. It features a song with Kendrick telling America his dikk ain't free, and America threatening to tell Uncle Sam on him lol.

And you're mad THIS album is getting rave reviews and nominations?
:scust:

Let that boy cook. Gotta say it's disheartening tho seeing this anger. I don't give a fukk about the Grammys due to how they're chosen but as a hip hop fan it's a good look. People who never listen to rap might pick up the album just to see what it's about. And they're going to hear some dope shyt that doesn't cuddle their sentiments. Good.

Agreed is crazy the amount of hate this album gets on the coli. Like my G, I understand you not liking the music, but at least respect the fact that one of us made something that is not only beautiful but extremely conscious at the same time. I think this goes back to the Obama thing, everyone that was black didn't hate on Obama even if they didn't like him, just said "That's whats up" I wish that when something good happens to our community we would be more supportive as appose to try and find things that is wrong with the product.

homie, I have no horse in this race. I really don't like much of this mainstream chit anymore. I could care less at this point. so the whole "you just don't like it" argument doesn't hold up against me.

and to answer your question, I cant think of any mainstream releases that stick anymore. people mainly f*ck with mixtapes. albums been played out.

this post is one of the reasons why youre reading such nasty reactions to Kendrick & his music.

this whole idea of "well hes pro-black and hes not compromising his sound. so you have to like him".

that whole "A for effort" mentality is annoying when used in defense of a lot of these artists. its even worse for Kendrick because its apart of his gimmick that his fans unknowingly eat up. not to mention, he gets a ridiculous push from interscope & the industry, so of course he doesn't have to "compromise his sound".

its very easy for people to hate on Kendrick lamar. and his fans just make it worse.

If you guys thinking "something good" is garnering support and acknowledgement from white people, then you can keep your "good" to yourself. I could care less about the grammies and to me this album was a solid 7-8. But then again im a little older, so perhaps this wasn't marketed to me in the first place.

Im just sick of negroes acting like grammy nominations mean are actually worth a damn, when the grammies didn't consider hiphop music for decades. Now nikkas want to do somesaults because white daddy gives props.

FOH. They can take their grammy and sodmize themselves with it.
