Hard but was this the original beat? Like do we know if the OG had a different beat. Sounds a little choppy but a hard verse none the less.

It did over a million in true sales ( physical & digital ) by the end of its release year. It did fine financially, online sentiment was just lower than usual.

Crown really is a musical masterpiece. For a non singer, Kendricks ability to stay in tune with the music is immaculate. And that's not an easy beat to stay in key with. It's pretty much a straight up classical song. Dude really is a modern day genius. The true definition of a prodigy.

This was easily his second best album, I still dont understand the hate it got on release. Maybe the culture wasn't ready for that conversation at that time, people wanted party and bullshyt music and Kendrick was rapping about generational trauma.
