There's so much heart in the album from Kendrick and the production.

They poured out.

There's so much depth to the album as a whole beautiful. Terrific arrangements. The songs actually have progression to them - something missing from hip-hop and pop today.

So much care and craftsmanship. If you notice for example, they pulled a few tricks from 80's love songs on here to up the emotionality of some songs.

You cannot point me to a major release that matches these attributes this year. Stop. Don't try to.

Officially hit replay as of a minute or two ago.

I ain't gone hold you. I'm a huge Kendrick fan. I think he has one of the greatest catalogues for any rapper. But this shyt was pure mid. Mainly because of the production though. I skipped midway through Mother I Sober and skimmed around Mirror. That's how boring disc 2 was. This album disappointing as hell. I'm perplexed bruh lol.

Yup lol. That’s why I’m just commenting and putting my phone down.

To me, this album is probably somewhere between 3 & 4 out of his entire discography. Of course, I have to listen to it a few more times and let it sit, but off of first listen it’s solid

Mirror is a great closer. This album was definitely different but I like the overall message that seems to be behind it.
