1. I don’t think every rapper/MC/entertainer is out there living their lyrics verbatim, but most of them came from an environment where they saw the things they rap about, knew people living that life, grew up with the slang they speak, grew up around people who spoke like they currently rap, have been in a fight, have seen violence at an early age and possibly participated in violence, slanging, etc.

2. Drake went to a white school, lived with his white Jewish mother, had a bar mitzvah, did not grow up around black people, did not use the slang he currently raps, had no real exposure to black culture outside of tv, has never had to deal with life or death choices as a kid/teen, fakes accents when he’s around different people, said ni99er with the hard R, is a corn ball who got “tougher” as his income increased.
