The issue is K Dot injected the "Gang Culture/Black on Black" Violence narrative while trying to pull Trayvon's Legacy into it to describe Hypocrisy. Sorry that's where he lost me. Trayvon's memory should only be about the Justice he didn't receive and what we are going to do to make sure another "Zimmerbytch" type person doesn't do it again. I just felt he didn't think that line through. After the "I wept for Trayvon" that's should of been it. Tying in his "Moral Cause" to show Gangbangers how Hypocritical they are is where he lost his message to me.

If you are seriously comparing the way Kendrick addresses the system as equivalent to the way Pac addresses such..... Kendrick constantly uses this passive "you". Half the time you can't tell if he's talking to another black man or really the "system". Pac's version of speaking about the system is wayyyyyyyy more raw, way more blunt, way more cut, he seems more entrapped with everyone in the system himself an isn't hesitant about which stating which side he's on. "White man". He wants to make sure you know who is fukking shyt up.

The way Kendrick sets his song up does not even compare. It leaves a lot of open room, which why everyone is clamoring lol

Pac also not stating that people don't love themselves. He is acknowledging the way their circumstances doesn't ALLOW them to ACT LIKE the love themselves in the best way possible. Their circumstances take away from what's really there.

There's a difference between what he is saying and what Kendrick is saying.

Pac is speaking about a system the whole song. He explicitly states how he feels about the gangsters and acknowledges that they are only a product of their environment and are otherwise good people who are driven by circumstance, not hate or lack of love.

i don't know if you guys are honestly this obtuse of if its a selective process in order to defend and applaud y'all favorite artists.

the killing of black bodies at the hands of black hands is not justifiable nor understandable, though somewhat explainable considering how disenfranchised the black community at large is, its an issue that needs tackling.

the killing of black bodies at the hands of white hands, specifically hands that are supposed to support, serve and protect (cops are public servants), killings which are made "legal" by systems designed with white supremacy at their core are not justifiable, understandable nor explainable. the issues can be addressed separately, even though the latter only contributes to black people feeling ever so more disenfranchised and targets for systematic oppression which then have an effect on the former issue.

anyway, the point is, being "more" vocal about the latter than the former doesn't make you a hypocrite.
