I like creativity as much as the next person, but I just don't go for this avant garde ass gahbidge. It's like any typical indie ass record, except with a major label shoving him down everyone's throat. And it's working apparently. That's cool I guess.

any typical indie artist wouldn't be able to have the absolute best musicians in music to work on the composition of his music like that.

making similar music than kendrick won't give you the same acclaim if the quality of the music ain't there.

Maybe you don't have the recquired musical knowledge to see the difference...nothing wrong with that...people still like what they like

the acclaim is bought and paid for in most cases, if you ask me.

are we really gonna act as though there's some elite measure of quality that Kendrick has mastered that the rest of the industry can only dream of? or is it simply just marketed better?

Kendrick Lamar's entire gimmick is that he's not a gimmick. He's the new Nas. The "people's champion" from out of nowhere. Except Nas really was that. Kendrick is being positioned into the role.

"Unmastered untitled" like some organic homegrown spontaneity. No picture on the cover like some trite indie cliche.
A "surprise" release like it was just thrown out there like a gift to feed the fans instead of a carefully planned and orchestrated release

He's got the world totally fooled.

Elitism at its finest. Knowledge isn't required to enjoy music. It's either hot or it isn't. I enjoy intelligent entertainment as much as the next person, but it's got to be entertaining first.
