Most anticipated follow up in 9 years since the Massacre, that shyt did 1.4 million in a short week(kiss voice) based off of GRODT's hype alone

And it was complete garbage, next album did a fraction of that, album after that did a fraction of that and so forth

Now :fif: got booted from interscope after flopping with 7 singles with the biggest names in music and he's an indie artist

Dot and Jay should drop on the same day almost guarantees Jay Rock wont flop

That's a dope idea, I could see them telling everyone to cop both on the same day, or selling them as a combo deal.

That way you get the Good Kid perspective from Kendricks album, and the other side from Jay Rocks album.

:ohhh:

Kendrick first got to drop that MONSTER single.

He doesn't need a monster single though, he's just gotta deliver dope music and the sales and singles will follow.

I think September is perfect actually, songs from GKMC are still getting play and he's still touring etc. off the strength. I'm hoping he locks in with Dre for a few more tracks this time, if not him then he should just keep it in-house or stick to producers from GKMC.

Did y'all forget about The Carter III? The anticipation and hype was insane for Weezy :comeon:

I doubt Kendrick matches the buzz for 50 or Wayne's albums :manny:

Kendrick is out here training on the moon, Goku style. Stacking paper on the road, improving his show, and spending his time well in the studios. A lot of rappers just record a bunch of songs in the studio that never come out, or are released on mixtapes/iTunes bonus. Kendrick actually records demos. He saves beats. He experiments with multiple flows on tracks, etc. I bet he barely has any finished songs for his new album. But when it's time to record, when he finally figures out what he wants to say and do next, he'll have a laptop full of melodies, beats, fragments, etc to choose from.

I bet producers love working with him. Imagine the horror in Just Blaze's face when he realized Ross was wasting this classic beat with throwaway rhymes, brehs...

:dahell:

Kendrick would have kept that beat for months, playing around with it before deciding how to tackle it, and coming up with a decent hook.

Black Hippy is a marketing ploy. Acting like they're some super group like Wu Tang but ab soul can't even get a feature on anyone's major debut. How many songs have they even done together :heh:
