North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
If he has a sophomore slump all that buzz will have been for nothing.

Keep in mind that his first album didn't have that one smash/instant hit record. GKMC received praise for he content. I just hope he doesn't go commercial. I don't think he will but At least he won't have the pressure of needing a pop hit. I also hopes he keeps that west coast sound/vibe. Don't need not Pharell or Timbaland instrumentals fukking up the album :mjpls:

Carter III anticipation was more commercial than anything... no real hip hop fan gave a shyt...

all that hype behind gayne was built off of his verses and mixtapes. Nikka was on everything hip hop related and dumb nikkas was singing all of his lines, heated arguments about his mc "skills" etc etc. Nikka was annoying as fukk but he had a fairshare of hip hop fans anticipating CIII. I never got the hype though

yall are the epitome of the ADD generation, damn. I'm a fan of people taking 18-36 months between albums, this used to be the norm, it would still be if "fans" were actually into music and not just singles.

I hope all this TDE shyt comes through, they've set expectations high in ragrds to the amount of product we should see this year

Because in 2014 there are very few rap artists who can take several years off and people still care enough to buy their album.

Let 2chainz take 3 years off and see what happens :pachaha:

The whole mixtape / section 80 thing is that things aren't just split between mixtapes and albums anymore. There wasn't no iTunes only release stuff back when for instance. The line has been blurred between album, independent album, mixtape, iTunes only release, etc. people will argue forever about it because the definitions aren't clear anymore.

Kendrick's album had a full year cycle, it's still selling well. Furthermore he was also on features all year, so basically he's having a year between projects, again, y'all expect too much. It is one thing for an artist like French Montana whose relevance relies on radio & club play, but there are still artists who can and should take time off
