The whole mixtape / section 80 thing is that things aren't just split between mixtapes and albums anymore. There wasn't no iTunes only release stuff back when for instance. The line has been blurred between album, independent album, mixtape, iTunes only release, etc. people will argue forever about it because the definitions aren't clear anymore.

Exactly, at times you really can't tell.

On another note, his catalog is pretty damn impressive. Section 80, GKMC, Overly Dedicated, KL EP, that's two albums, one EP ( which is as long as an album), and one mixtape. I appreciate the works he's put out, and look forward to his upcoming album.

Because in 2014 there are very few rap artists who can take several years off and people still care enough to buy their album.

Let 2chainz take 3 years off and see what happens :pachaha:

IF 2 Chainz took 6 months off, he :dead: in the water

yall are the epitome of the ADD generation, damn. I'm a fan of people taking 18-36 months between albums, this used to be the norm, it would still be if "fans" were actually into music and not just singles.

I hope all this TDE shyt comes through, they've set expectations high in ragrds to the amount of product we should see this year

Seriously, I remember when dudes would just eat of an album for a couple years before coming out again. Can't saturate the market coming out with albums all the time.

Jay-Z and DMX changed the game with them dropping back-to-back-to-back albums that went multi platinum. Then people were rushing albums out like crazy.

Cool he's not rushing it. 2 Years later is pretty good time gap for the next album. But I feel sorry for K-Dot. Not many rappers have escape the "Sophmore Jinx". Even though this is technically his 3rd album.

Yeah, I think jigga is one of few (maybe em if he tried) that has been able to pull that off. I think Dark Man X benefited from being so huge at the time (not to say his albums weren't good) that he was able to get away with for that run, but just fizzled out.
