i don't know. Celtics went from basically overachieving to underachieving with the quickness and it's all built on media perception. Sixers went through the same thing where a team lead by two dudes under 25 had champion or bust expectations
Celtics shouldn't be .500 right now but up until this point they've played as good as I think can be REALISTICALLY expected in the playoffs

team is lacking players imo. the way Rozier and Al fit in were perfect. Marcus Morris was nice for them too. Kemba lookin like a shell of himself with the bad knee. they need a good move before deadline. I'd keep Smart and the two all stars. anything else is up for discussion.

Everyone saying Ainge is the issue is correct. And just like clockwork, he goes to the media to spew this bullshyt
Celtics GM Danny Ainge: 'We've Been Close' to Completing Multiple Trades
February has not been kind to the Boston Celtics, with the team falling to 15-17 after going just 5-9 in this month, leaving the Celtics ninth and out of the current Eastern Conference playoff picture.

Not one to accept mediocrity peacefully or quietly, Boston has long been looking for reinforcements, and general manager Danny Ainge mentioned that they might not be far from making a trade on the ‘Toucher and Rich’ morning show on Thursday.

“We’ve been close a couple times,” Ainge said in regards to potential trades. “It’s rare that trades get done [not close] to the deadline. We’re talking and we’re trying to do some things… Time will tell.”

Ainge hinted at the kind of player the Celtics may be looking for on the trade market, saying that Boston needs to “surround them [Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown] with more scoring off the bench.”

Brown and Tatum are both averaging over 25.0 points per game this season, with the next highest scorer being point guard Kemba Walker, who is averaging 17.1 points per game. In total, the Celtics only have four players averaging more than 10.0 points per game: Brown, Tatum, Walker and the currently injured Marcus Smart.

Some names that spring to mind for a potential Boston trade include Sacramento Kings’ wing Harrison Barnes, averaging 15.9 points per game and Orlando Magic forward Aaron Gordon, averaging 13.8 points per game. Both have been subject to a multitude of trade rumors this season and would provide the scoring Boston needs deeper in their rotation.

The trade deadline is a month away, Mar. 25, giving Ainge and the Celtics a bit of breathing room to get a deal done.

Yeah and they still did not get to the finals. So are you telling me a team with Kemba, Tatum, Brown, and Hayward are not good enough to get to a finals? And my fault about Casey but my point still stands. It's not like he was losing to bums. There is no excuse for this Celtics team to be under .500
I agree the celtics should not be under 500, thats pretty inexcusable. But the Heyword thing isnt a good place to pull from. He lost his job because of an unfortunate injury and is now the number 1 in Charlotte, he would be the 3/4 option on Boston. And how many teams with guys that are your best players under 25 make the finals? The window right now is still a 4-5 year window. And brad just got another extension, unless Indiana comes calling, he aint going no where.

With the talent that has been on that team that's underachieving. Dwayne Casey went to 3 conference finals with less talent:yeshrug:
He sure as hell shouldnt have reached the ECF in 2018 with a bunch of teenagers and no kyrie. Thats an accomplishment.

A few Floors Down from the Daily Grind

Someone, anyone... fire him:mjcry:

Had 14/11/4/3 tonight and is C.L.E.A.R.L.Y. the Celtics center of the future and should be playing 20-25 a night right now.

Put Kemba, Pritchard, Jaylen, Tatum and TimeLord on the floor for 7 minutes at a time and let them cook.(Smart for Pritchard when he's back)

100% agree. I love Pritchard and Time Lord's chemistry

Time Lord also helps the offense because he's a lob threat and great at offensive rebounding
