I'm willing to bet KD appreciated Russ after his 2014 MVP season where he had to carry the entire load and ran out of gas in the playoffs and I know Russ appreciated KD after not even making the playoffs without KD but the truth is that KD was probably tired of dealing with shyt like this

Regardless of his respect and like for Russ (You can see them working out together over the summer in his HBO documentary)

Seeing Russ control so many possession and do dumb shyt has to be exhausting to deal with for years on end.......and then turn around and see a Golden State team that plays perfect basketball and you can fit right in.

Makes you appreciate Jordan and Pippen staying together for as long as they did.

Other people can post the details but I thought I read that Jordan threatened the Bulls owner/management if they traded Scottie.
You gotta know when you have a good thing going.

:manny:
Totally different situation though. And in the end, Chicago management didn't give a fukk about EITHER of those cats, and let them and Phil all walk, even after ANOTHER championship. Also, Pippen ALWAYS deferred to Jordan; Russ and Durant don't got that situation and plenty of people think that was a big part of the issue. Not to mention I doubt any of this happens had Durant and Westbrook won multiple titles together; when he was losing to the Pistons year after year, Jordan was trying to get traded and wanted everybody on the team to be traded. :yeshrug:

Can you think of another situation where two Top 5 players were on the same team and 1 of them left voluntarily?
