Damn, that Certified Lover Boy got him under pressure. (don't even ask me how)
I agree and disagree while the album is eccentric. There are some records that sound radio friendlyU hit it.
Taking time off has nothing to do with it. People were anticipating the new Kendrick heavy even with his time off.
Fact is he just didn't come with an easily digestible album. I fukk w/ Kendrick heavy but I'm not rocking w/ this album. Replay value ain't there and you can't listen to this shyt at the gym, at a party, driving down the highway.. like to me I can't really figure out who this album was actually made for.

it means people did not replay it after the first listen. His second week sales going be interestingTo be honest I’m shocked his first week sales are that low. When the album dropped, Apple Music and Spotify CRASHED because so many people were online at the same time searching and/or playing the album.
That shyt NEVER happened before, even with Aubrey. So I thought Fosho his numbers would be around the 350K-400K.
But to break streaming records and only sell over 286K is justto me.
I guess if he would have put “The Heart Part 5” on there as a bonus track and had physical copies the day of he would have easily been over 300K but
But I guess Kendrick and his people didn’t want the album to leak in anyway so that’s why they held back on releasing the physicals cause it would have 100% leaked cause that’s what happened when “DAMN.” dropped.
Still don’t hurt the music..it is what it is![]()
The same thing happen to TPAB. That album wasn’t even popping in LA. Top was mad about itI am enjoying the album, I am sure he’s personally disappointed a little but it’s a lesson for him that he has to market it better

Who would you consider doing pop records then as far as rap goesMarketing wouldn't have changed anything. He has the world's ear.
This is a reflection of the content, majority of this album is the anti thesis of pop, I'm sure he knew that going into it.
A song like "We Cry Together" is artistically a triumph but it's not a song that I'll ever want to listen to again.
Cole also dropped a 12 song albumI think Cole did similar numbers, people need to stop acting like there’s some massive gap between the 2.
