Quik is a legend but his production is dated.

It does conjure memories of a past era.

I dunno...Kendrick's probably not lookin' for "bangers" in a 2013 kinda mold anyway. He's looking for a producer, not merely a beat maker. And Quick is a producer.


But knowing Quik is doin' it doesn't make me excited in the least bit.


I keep thinking back to when Kweli dropped "Beautiful Struggle" and how that Quik track stood out like a sore thumb. Niccas used to clown that track. And I can't say Kweli did it any justice with that ... uh, struggle hook.
