Kenny with a not so terrible analogy.

Kenny's so real. Chuck is a buster. Shaq is going to mumble. Ernie will try and skip over the subject tomorrow. Chuck seems to have forgotten where he came from or the dirt he has done in life. Dude is a straight hypocrite.

Yup. Thats where I had to

keep sleeping on shaq. just cause he mumbles and jokes a lot doesn't mean he doesn't take issues like this seriously i guarantee that shaq is gonna come correct tomorrow if they discuss this topic in depth. not some 2 minute discussion. Shaq might be the smartest person on there and im not just talking degrees either.
No worries if Charles barkley says something out of line again, I'm sure kenny or Cwebb will come out and write to a thought provoking piece to set my "Inside the NBA" world in order again
this is my issue with the coli, why do you (not just you, general sentiments in every thread) think everyone is going to go to their workplace expressing every view of theirs, no matter how offensive? do you start discussions with your white boss, co workers, teachers, or classmates, etc. going off on your disgust of whites, gays, etc and/or expressing your deepest hate or 100% honest opinion, etc? i know i've worked with white men who, thru various covert comments, have revealed they're the type to be sitting at home calling these protesters "******", but they've never said anything crazy to me because work is not the platform for them to go off the handle. these subjects aren't black and white, nor are the actions people should take.My problem with Shaq is that as another poster put it, he tries to be too neutral. He does put in work for our people but it seems like he always holds back on saying how he really feels when it comes to things like this.
Kenny to Chuck: "Why do racists feel comfortable asking you for your opinion?"
:mjx:

I thank Kenny Smith for clearing that up for me. I will now tune in for Inside the NBA on Thursday...No worries if Charles barkley says something out of line again, I'm sure kenny or Cwebb will come out and write to a thought provoking piece to set my "Inside the NBA" world in order again

Yet he can go on that show and talk about his issues with Kobe?this is my issue with the coli, why do you (not just you, general sentiments in every thread) think everyone is going to go to their workplace expressing every view of theirs, no matter how offensive? do you start discussions with your white boss, co workers, teachers, or classmates, etc. going off on your disgust of whites, gays, etc and/or expressing your deepest hate or 100% honest opinion, etc? i know i've worked with white men who, thru various covert comments, have revealed they're the type to be sitting at home calling these protesters "******", but they've never said anything crazy to me because work is not the platform for them to go off the handle. these subjects aren't black and white, nor are the actions people should take.

Yeah he kind of backed down with that part. He knows its about race and he said as much, but he ends it framing it as "its really about trust" to kind of soften the message for cacs that get uncomfortable discussing truth. But we know Kenny loves his analogies.Kenny made some solid points but imo these points dont go together, and I disagree. He writes about the failures of the law pertaining to race and then ignores it at another. You can't ignore race in the way these guys were treated- in death- on trial more than their killers. That tells you about race relations- 17 year old young black men were put in a bad light because they weren't 'perfect,' neglecting the fact they werent allowed to grow and mature because of the actions of grown men, who a corrupt system protected.
a 1 to 1 issue is different than offending large segments of folks in general.Yet he can go on that show and talk about his issues with Kobe?
Best believe if Kobe or was involved in a Tiger Woods-like scandal Shaq would be discussing it.
