Is he though? So what's Matrix? Matrix is one of the greatest on-the-ball AND help defenders ever, and never received any of the accolades that Draymond has. So I guess Matrix isn't an all-time great defender. What about Tayshaun? Sheed? That team worked because they had 4 of the top on the ball defenders at their positions, yet Ben got all of the accolades. Byron Scott...hell, Horace Grant was the interior defender and had the play the role of shotblocker for the Bulls, but no one ever mentions his importance. look at Thorpe & Mad Max, as that was their role on the Rockets teams. No one elevates their roles.
This is why the "resume" argument is pointless. Draymond being a loudmouth, and the only bully in a soft era is what has people elevating him. There's no one there to check him and bring him down to earth. Dude average triple 7s but y'all believe he's one of the greatest ever for being a "glue guy".
Rodman rebounded the ball like a madman. He was an elite rebounder and he gets the right amount of praise. No one EVER calls him of the greatest PFs of all-time. They go through like 50 PFs before he even gets consideration. He was an elite rebounder and a great defender, and could pass the ball. He also did what he did for the Pistons, the Spurs and the Bulls..no matter who was on the floor. Draymond can't say the same since he's not elite at anything. Rodman wasn't even rewarded for leading the league in rebounds for like 5 straight years. Matter of fact, the ONLY time Rodman gets brought up is when people elevate Draymond. AND I've said multiple times on here that Andre Drummond doesn't get enough credit for his rebounding..or his post defense. Draymond can Michael Cooper his way to the Hall for being an integral part of his team's run, but he talks like he's Steph...or Durant. He's not even Klay.
