Solange and Kelly both had solo albums out months before Beyonce. I still remember Skillz dropping the Kelly/Nelly line on his 2002 "Rap Up". He was talking about how Kelly's album was released to piggyback off "Dilemma" and it flopping. Kelly even had a single produced by Rich Harrison, but it didn't did too well. Solange came at the end of that year and her album didn't too well either. Meanwhile, Beyonce was in the Austin Powers movie and "Work It Out" from the soundtrack was supposed to double as her debut single for her debut album, but it was a flop even with The Neptunes producing. This was when The Neptunes produced like 40% of the songs on the radio. She was featured on Jay's "Bonnie & Clyde" and all the rumors about them being a couple amplified. The next summer they delivered "Crazy In Love" and Beyonce's solo career took off.
Why u giving me a run down of how her career took off brodie I was there. Lol. I know.

Keri and Beyonce never had a dispute. It was Keri vs. The Beyhive over Beyonce allegedly taking shots at Beyonce on the "Turning Me On" remix.
I know about that, but there was something that led to that. It started over an Usher song.

Hilson made it known that she was not fond of Beyonce back in 2007 when Usher released his hit single, 'Love in This Club.' After Beyonce lent her vocals to the remix for the song, it topped the Billboard charts for the singer. The collaboration between Usher and Beyonce made Hilson bitter, as she was responsible for penning the lyrics for the remix and originally put her vocals down for the recording.

After Beyonce heard the tune, she asked Usher if she could be the voice on the track rather than Hilson, which he agreed. Usher did, however, use Hilson in the music video for the song as his love interest, but she later vented her frustrations publicly to all who would listen.

She used to drop shyt right after Solange and she used to do the same shyt with Kelly Rowland. To the point Kelly Rowland was feeling a way and her ex man was feeding off that and causing even further friction between them. And the fact that u can only name that one A Keys situation proves me right. Bey been a solo artist since like 02. And u can count on one hand how many of her contemporaries she’s actually fukked with musically. If u a pop star like Shakira? Cool. If u a female rapper? Cool. If ur an RnB legend or diva? Cool. Other than that. shyt is a dub. Lol. I mean I ain’t hating she can do what she do and Bey the hardest working female in the game bar none but im callin a spade a spade.

Kelly Rowlands has 3 albums. Her debut solo album (2002) came out a year before Beys debut in 2003

She released the other two in 2011 and 2013. In 2011 Bey dropped before her in June and Kelly July. In 2013 Kelly dropped in the summer and Bey in the winter with no promo

Her and Solange arent even in the same lane. They both dropped in 2016. Bey after her superbowl performance months before Solange lol

As far as collabos go, female rnb artist rarely collab with their peers. Veterans, rappers yes. She gave Mary J a record. Mary loved her vocals so she kept Bey on it

Whitney, Mariah in their primes werent trying to share the stage....she's moreso a pop artist, but what female singers has Rihanna collabed with ?

I would say that interviewer asked for that and instead of playing nice, Keri further amplified the drama.

Keri venting about "Love In This Club" makes no sense either as they don't even bother to link where Keri vented about it. Also, it makes no sense for her to be in the video if she felt some type of way about the song especially since she was supposedly cut out of the song for Beyonce. It doesn't seem at all consistent.

People are ready for that one. Solange was always the artist of the two while Beyonce was more of the voice. And I would go out on a limb and say, naturally Solange inspired Beyonce's work from 2013- present.

More of an artist?

I'll just say both sisters are great. Just different strengths. Bey a top tier vocalist, has a great ear for harmonies and putting notes together. I believe she could produce a fire gospel album

Solange is a stronger writer and storyteller

Not really seeing Solanges influence in Beys work ...nothing Solange made prior to 2013 and beyond sounds like anything on Bey's subsequent albums imho

They do work with the same creative director Melina Matsoukas who started off with Bey directing her videos....sure they bounce ideas off each other

And quiet as kept Solanges change in sound the last few albums has been heavily influenced by lesser known artists like Kelela. They are actually close friends...

I think that the bolded statements answer what I was saying.

I think A Seat At The Table was an influence on Lemonade. And Beyonce even says Solange is an influence:

My sister told me I should speak my mind

^^^ I don't think we really heard Beyonce do this musically until her 2013 self titled album.

Lemonade was released first.. was written and recorded earlier than ASATT.. there’s no similarities.. they sound nothing alike musically as Solange’s record is has a more grounded in our music culture.. neo-soulesque soundscape w/a hip-hop influence ..beyonce is much more worldly and w/a lotta mixed genres due to a diverse group of collaborators. From rock, avant- pop, reggae, country, 808s, ambient RnB .. I don’t see any shared influence ..visually ppl actually noted when ASATT came out in September 2016 how there were undertones of the Lemonade film that came out on HBO earlier that year in March.

“My sister told me I should speak my mind” - I think she was jus referring to their bond as siblings.. beyonce was always the passive, shy one

But does it make sense that Keri just threw out a dis song going at Bey just out the blue with no provocation? Or is it more reasonable that she had an issue with her?

Beyoncé is an entertainer moreso and Solange is more of an artist. Beyoncé is the more talented vocalist but Solange is still great as well. Solange is def the better “artist” tho because she’s painting her own pictures.

Well, Keri never made a diss toward Beyonce. People speculated that she did because of these lines:

I ain't tryin to start some mess
There's just somethin on my chest that I need to get off
Cause you turnin me off
Your vision cloudy if you think that you're the best
You can dance she can sing but she need to move it to the... (don't do it em)
She need to go have some babies
She needs to sit down, she fake
Them other chicks ain't even worth my time to talk about
Been had dollars boy
Go-on get your money up
Know you're ain't the only homie on melined up
I ain't turnin it off
I'm stay turnin it on
Go-on and tell these folks how long I been writing your songs
I been puttin you on, just check the credits ho
And if you want me you can find me in the Decatur ho
Cause you're turnin me off

People took that as a subliminal shot at Beyonce because of the "to the left" line from "Irreplaceable". The target was Ciara, as Keri wrote for Ciara on Ciara's debut. They had a falling out for whatever reason.

Its ultimately subjective

I would have to go with big sis tho

Her talent as a vocalist and vocal producer/vocal arranger is elite. Her voice is her instrument and she's mastered that bytch. She's like a one woman Boyz2men, Jodeci

The only person who trumps her as far as vocals go in pop history imho is Whitney

And she does write some I'll give her that

Cant really think of anything Solange is truly elite at...and her songs dont hit me as hard
