reporter ain't wrong. 8 mil for 3 pts / 3 rebs? KD in his feelings :patrice:

they can pay this scrub but MVP candidate Harden was out of the question? :patrice:
Pretend Harden would have got anywhere the shots and usage rate he deserved if he stayed with the Thunder and two other superstars brehs. It may look insanely good on paper but that's not how it translates to the court. Ibaka is the most ideal third piece to complement KD and Russ. However they still should have tried to find a much better return in that trade than they did.

Also isn't the extension 4 million per? 8 mil is just the total over two years.

I'm consistently amazed at how many people want to explain away talent leaving like "oh, this team would've had too much talent on the roster - couldn't work" :mjlol:

Harden would've gotten a lot of usage in big moments over the part few years, especially given how many injuries they've had since trading Harden. He could've stepped up in :russ: absence and he and KD could've made a playoff run in that first year. And this year he could've single handedly kept them afloat til KD and Russ got back.

Maybe they wouldve discovered exactly what they had by now, instead of finding out after trading him over a couple million.

So a team with 3 MVP caliber, ball dominant players, ALL on the perimeter would have worked out seamlessly? This would mean a limited amount of shots for each of them, which would have hindered their full potential. KD would NOT have become the MVP in 2014 if Harden was still on the team. His departure meant KD had to expand his passing (went up from 3-4 and then 4-5 in the two years after the trade), and up his scoring and usage (and efficiency) even further. That improvement wouldn't have occurred with 3 superstars on the perimter indirectly taking shots and possessions from each other. You wouldn't want them to trade that third MVP caliber player (Harden) for a plethora of rim protectors, shooters, 3 and D players, picks etc? Look at the Cavs. They gave up two first round picks for a role player. Mozgov is not that good of a player, but he is a really good rim protector and they subsequently had a 12 game winning streak. He is arguably more valuable to the Cavs than Love and is a great complement to Kyrie and Lebron even though love individually is a much better player. Of course you want the team to be as talented as possible but its about how they fit together and covering all the required roles, otherwise you aren't maximising the teams potential.

To illustrate this further, how great would a team of:

PG: Rondo
SG: CP3
SF: Wall
PF: Russ
C: Lowry

really be?

Or:

PG: Dwight
SG: Griffin
SF: Bosh
PF: Jefferson
C: Drummond

Kevin Durant isn't mincing his words these days.

A day after expressing his displeasure with the amount of power that media members have in determining postseason awards, the Oklahoma City Thunder star once again took aim at the media on Saturday, this time prompted by questions surrounding the future of head coach Scott Brooks and his job security.

His response was pointed, per Darnell Mayberry of NewsOK.com:

"You guys really don’t know (expletive)," Durant told reporters in his final interview session before Sunday’s All-Star Game.

Durant was later asked what stories he would like the media to focus on more.

"To be honest, man, I’m only here talking to y’all because I have to," Durant said. "So I really don’t care. Y’all not my friends. You’re going to write what you want to write. You’re going to love us one day and hate us the next. That’s a part of it. So I just learn how to deal with y’all."

The heel turn :ahh:
