KD might be "the bad guy" next season. Judging by how he's handling it now it may be too much for him.

I feel what he was saying though.

I 4get the sayin', adversity builds character, or some shyt like that. Hopefully he stays true to his word, and does him.

On a side note, why u only showin' one eye in ur profile pic? :ohhh:

He's not saying he won't do all he can for the team to win he's saying he won't be someone or something he's not. He's not Kobe or Lebron or anyone else and he's not trying to be them and I respect that. What's funny is that if Bron gets hurt or Battier goes cold or Harden balls out last year there would be absolutely no questions about Durant now. :heh: He would be the reigning clutch killer of the league that nikkas were ready to crown him last summer. It is just plain comical how myopic and fickle nikkas can be. Now if it was a "real nikka" out there and he struggled in a similar fashion and he said something along the same lines of not changing or trying to be likes someone nikkas would have their pom poms out. shyt never ceases to amaze me.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with what he said. If anything it makes me even more of a fan.

Again not once have I called Durant not clutch. But I did say its some things he needs to work on as far as reaching the heights he are capable of. If you think KD is a finished product and not deserving or criticism than you are a delusional fan. You keep talking about if they won a title. But the fact of the matter is that they didn't so your whole point is irrelevant cuz you are talking in a hypothetical sense.

My point is conceptual therefore we can't just look at what happened or didnt' happen because it goes deeper than that. The concept that I am addressing is the misguided one that circumstances determine how a player is viewed, and how he's built, what he's made of etc. more so than what he actually does as an individual. You acknowledged yourself that he would be viewed differently if they win the Finals with no change in his performance. How can you not see/acknowledge how silly that is? We are talking about KD, the individual, here. So why are circumstance outside of his controlling the discussion about him, the individual. I get that the media is gonna work thier narrative. I am taking issue with nikkas on here and fans in general who buy in to that bullshyt when it lines up with thier beleifs and then wanna talk about "the media's agenda" when it doesn't. For the record I never said he was beyond criticism (especially for how he played against Memphis) nor did I say he was a finished product. My only point has been the reasons for the criticism are based on things that happened outside of him more so than what he actually did or didn't do himself. In other words if things outside of his control broke his way over the last year with no change in his performance, he would be the "Clutch Killer King" right now but since they didn't somehow he's the total opposite. :what:

He shouldn't compromise who he is to win a championship.

I've always felt that shyt was stupid. it was stupid when people were saying that shyt about Kobe and Lebron and it's stupid when people say it about Durant.

Durant will win as he develops his game more and has better talent around him...even if that happens it's dependent on what other teams are out there standing in his way.

Nikka had Westbrook, Harden and Ibaka, all All Star caliber players and he couldn't win :wtf: Nikka ain't gonna win sh*t.

I'm starting to question Kevin Durant's desire on being the greatest brehs.

I dont know if he has the heart of a champion

Well, what he said made sense. Why try to be someone else that you aren't?

My issue with him is asserting himself and acting like the best player on the court at all times. Still haven't said he's not clutch, so you directing your opinion at the wrong one.

That's fair. :ehh: My only issue is with the idea that championship ring and no change in his perfromance would change that perception. You said it would be different if he had a ring. I'm saying the only thing that should alter perception of him is his performance not a team accomplishment that requires contributions from others and a certain level of fortune.

:stopitslime:

1. He didn't have Harden or Westbrook this year

2. The same bullshyt could have been applied to Lebron in 2011. He had Wade and Bosh and lost badly in the finals.

3. Kevin Durant is 24 years old.

And that's what I've been doing. Criticizing certain aspects of his game, not calling him a bum or saying he sucks now. Durant my second favorite player in the league and I've watched him since Texas. I cant see him retiring without having multiple rings so I have the utmost admiration for his game.

Not to mention only Westbrook played like an All-Star in the Finals. Many a talented team has lost. You usually have to before you can start winning.

BTW Bron was a bad example because his teammates did their jobs in 2011. The difference was him. That's all on him. They should have beat the Mavs. KD balled out in the Finals last year he just ran into a better player on a better team.
