KD + Bynum + Odom + Gasol :damn:

LMAOOOOOOO

BYNUM WAS HOBBLED THE ENTIRE TIME, AVERAGED 7 POINTS N 5 REBOUNDS IN THE FINALS ON LIMITED MINUTES

ODOM WAS A ROLE PLAYER

GASOL WAS AN ALL-STAR, NOT SUPERSTAR

KD’S SUPPORTING CASTS THROUGHOUT HIS ENTIRE CAREER HAVE BEEN WAYYYYYY BETTER

As a HoF kobe stan, and a big Durant stan, I can say honestly that Durant is at least on kobes level, and maybe a little better honestly at least on a game to game basis.

But I think when kobe is playing his best basketball, or when he’s scorching hot no one is better, not even MJ. It’s just mj was more consistent, smarter, athletic, and was able to hit his zone more often.

Kobe Bryant in a zone is >

I don't know man, how much of that is just random variance? You throw up 25 shots every day, sometimes you make 16 of them and sometimes you make 7. The human mind likes to take patterns and build all sorts of stories around them, but the truth could be that he just got luckier with the # of shots that fell some days.

Kobe played 37 Finals games, and most of them were against pretty terrible defenders at his position. How many of those 37 games did Kobe hit this "better than Jordan" zone you speak of?

Other than shooting there's nothing Durant does better. Plus the fact that he still doesnt seem to have a legit back-to-the-basket game, is pathetic for someone who is almost 7'0'

Other than shooting from literally every part of the floor. :wow:

You're not giving Durant credit for being a better finisher, rim protector, or rebounder than Kobe? :what:

he's still not as good as Kobe was with the ball in his hands and he's much worse about dealing with double teams. .

Since Kobe's method of dealing with double teams was usually "force a low-percentage shot on them anyway", I'm not giving Kobe any credit there.

% of KD's offense that was assisted by year:
08 - 59 %
09 - 57 %
10 - 52 %
11 - 62 %
12 - 48 %
13 - 52 %
14 - 47 %
15 - 55 %
16 - 55 %
17 - 62 %
18 - 57 %

KD is a hell of an off ball player (which inflates efficiency) and GOOD not GREAT ISO player. For comparison, Kobe was in the 35-45 % range in terms of assisted offense.

% of assisted offense isn't how you measure how good an iso player someone is. If Durant, like Dirk, can just hit the shot when he catches it, why not hit the shot? He's so damn tall he doesn't need to make extra dribbles to get free of his man, so why would he?

But I made that point already, I said Jordan was able to tap into his zone far more often than Kobe, as well as just being more efficient.

But if you give both of them that zone for 48 minutes Kobe is more deadly scoring, Kobe in a zone is hitting Curry like 3s, posting you up, getting to the rim, dunking on you etc.

:ehh:

Good post.
Frankly we need to see that debate on whether prime Kobe is better than Prime Wade. I forgot which coli poster brought up that question but it’s worth entertaining.

You want Kobe to be graded on a curve for taking more difficult shots. That is what makes no sense.

LEBRON ISNT GUARDED OUTSIDE OF THREE FEET, WEIRDO

DEANDRE JORDAN IS MORE EFFICIENT THAN YOUR HERO

SO I GUESS WE NEED TO STOP GRADING LEBRON ON A CURVE AND CONCEDE DEADRE>LEBRON ACCORDING TO YOUR BRILLIANT IDEOLOGY

Yes and no

It particularly explains efficiency gaps which some misguided individuals are leaning on

Playing off ball is team mate dependent i.e. Westbrook, Harden, Curry i.e. luxuries Kobe never had

Durant has never shown he can create offense at the volume Kobe did and win at a high level

No, you just don't understand math. Deandre Jordan has a high fg percentage because he doesn't create shots. If you try to get him 20 shots a game, that shyt isn't working.

Defenses give LeBron room to shoot because they can't stay in front of him otherwise. With Kobe, they could play up on him knowing that he'd usually accept it as a challenge. LeBron would be unstoppable if they guarded him the way they guarded Kobe.

Kobe kicked his 1st Ballot Hall of Fame teammate off the team, to prove his could win titles without him.

Durant joined a 1st ballot hall of famer because he felt he couldn't win titles without him.

Kobe's heart alone, is better than any basketball attribute possessed by Durant.

Who would you take to build your team around?

Prime Kobe or Prime Durant?

Easy answer.

KD.
