What alot of yall fail to realize is Gates will never go hella hard wita luca brasi story album because of tha fact he tryna chart on tha billboards, at tha end of tha day he still gotta feed his family, so mixtape Gates is always gone be more gutta/thugged out than album Gates.

This shyt just right for an album.

you're right. I don't fukk with his album sound, but his mixtapes are always piff.

Isaiah and this one sound vanilla as shyt to me, I can't tell apart track from track, but his flows are always on point

It's more lighthearted and mainstream. People have layers. He's in a different place. Album fire imo

Exactly, you get it. Gates said that he wasnt making his old style of music when LB3 came out cuz he was ina different place in his life. He leveled up, he ain't doin tha same shyt he was doin when he was making them old tapes

The production is much too generic, and lacks that special, mournful, haunting quality, some of his best work has. I always come home from a trip in September to a Kevin Gates project, in 2017, it was By Any Means, songs like "Had To", "Jus Wanna", "What If", "Why I", held me down that fall, and in 2018, it was "Wrong Love", "MATA", "Find You Again". This just didn't grab me, but some is solild, by Gates usually gives me that urgent, painful, triumphant music, this sounded like cutting room floor material. Nothing really really hit me that hard.

As far as comparison to Isiah, to me, 2 Phones, and Ain't Too Hard are better than anything on this project.

I thought Islah was very mainstream sounding, moreso than this album. It’s not executed as well here. Which is a disappointment, only because Islah set a high bar, and he didn’t climb past it here.
