But they had every right to not give him that deal and assuming he got that deal, we'd be here today (otherwise, this whole "i'm tired of losing" shyt would be an absolute farce.) Love only wanted a 5 year deal because his homies got one. It was less about getting to help the team and more about feeding a growing ego. Kahn gave him a 4 year max after a game (gave him that shyt kinda improperly) and Love threw it in the trash. He wanted 5 and if he didn't get the deal Rose got and Westbrook got, fukk em. He opted for the 3 + player option to cover his bases.

Love not being treated like the player he isn't is what's culminating in what's going on now.

It didn't help that Kahn had no filter about what he thought of Love. Love didn't fit his long term and only extended an olive branch because Love put up numbers. He tried giving him away (almost traded him TWICE to move up in a draft. Once for Rubio, the other time I believe was intended for either Paul George or to package 5 and 6 for Favors). Kahn said publicly that Love was at best a third or fourth best player on a contender. He was dead on about that, but that's not something you say days into your new job. Love's a sensitive dude. He remembered that, and he got Kahn back. He threw his teammates under the bus in the process, but he remembered everything.

Everyone knows Love cant win a title on his own. Sort of like Bosh. Back then people still thought Melo could be a Jordan-type and thought he was choosing an easier route. Turns out it wasn't thanks to D'Antoni killin STAT those first 4 months.

Asik was bullshyt though. He got a free pass.

what does this even mean?

This is because Love is one of those guys who could score 20 and grab 10 boards and it feels like he didn't do a damn thing most of the time. I've seen some dominant shooting games from him but he's never been a guy that jumps out and makes you say :gladbron: did you see that shyt?

He'd be great in the right situation but he's not the game changer a lot of people think he is. I'd rather see Wiggins grow n/h with Bron than see Love play with him. However, I think Love would rape people with his jumper if he got to play with Bron cause he's a legit sniper from the perimeter.

I just think Wiggins could be that perfect sidekick if they build him up the right way

I go back and forth. You keep Wiggins and he doesn't turn into anything special, at least you still have payroll flexibility, and someone would still take a chance on him next year. And if he does turn into something special, you have him under contract for cheap and you still have a window of flexibility.

On the other hand, the Wolves outscored opponents by 5 whenever Love was on the court, ranked near the bottom in point differential whenever he wasn't. They were near the top of the league in 30 point leads last season, but at the bottom in terms of winning close games. Love has never had much of a team around him. His defense is a joke, but maybe that changes when he can expend less energy on offense because Kyrie and LeBron are putting in work, and he can concentrate more on defense.

If they get Dieng (which I doubt they will), they have to do it. If not, yeah, they might regret the trade a lot.

That's one thing I didn't factor in. He shyts on Melo to this day :russ:

He's such a petty overrated piece of shyt. fukk Karl and his playoff flops.

In 1994 the Timberwolves hired Kevin McHale as soon as he retired from playing; in under two years McHale went from the nebulous job description of TV analyst/Special Assistant to Assistant GM to Vice President of Basketball Operations – at which point McHale promptly hired his former college teammate Flip Saunders as head coach. McHale drafted Kevin Garnett, then undercut that move by colluding with Joe Smith to manipulate the NBA’s salary cap regulations, thus handicapping the franchise’s ability to build during Garnett’s prime.

McHale would later fire Saunders, assume coaching duties for 31 games, hire and quickly fire Dwane Casey, promote then-assistant Randy Wittman, give former Celtic teammate Danny Ainge the gift of Kevin Garnett and an immediate championship, fire Randy Wittman and assume the head coaching position again for a season before leaving to take the same job in Houston. Meanwhile, Saunders went on to coach in Detroit and Washington, the latter of which fired him and replaced him with… Randy Wittman. Within a year Flip Saunders became part-owner of and President of Basketball Operations for the Timberwolves. At the end of this past season, Saunders became, once again, the Wolves’ head coach. Rational observers are left to wonder if the NBA executive fraternity is actually a favor-trading sect of Scientology.

It was just yesterday that I was trying to explain to my homie what a good ole boy network is. As he was wondering why Charlie Weis is still able to get head coaching positions. And I'll be damned, I wish this made then because this is the epitome of that.

Yeah Wolves fukking sucked b. THey either blew out people or choked away games they should've won. The reason for that is because they sucked and were inconsistent. If love had a bad game, they lost, if he was absolute on fire, they won.

I don't think that's because he's such an outstanding player, I just think they were a horrible team and he was the one fakkit that stood out. I love Gorgui dieng's game a lot though ever since i saw him at Louisville. He'd be a great pick up if they can snag him, but yeah, I'm actually one of those guys that hated on Wiggins as a build-around piece, but if you got bron on your team it changes everything.

I say they keep him because I know firsthand that Love is not a guy I'd want to depend on to be that secondary or even tertiary safety valve on either end of the ball

I shouldn't even say "low key" because most folks know this, but Kevin Love been a bytch made dude since HS. It was talk about him being bytch made at UCLA. So you have a player with a history for being a f*ck boy STILL getting that free pass, while Melo still gets shyt on TO THIS DAY for being a bad teammate, lacking character and all that shyt followed him from Denver. I ain't the nicca quick to scream "double standard"...but in this case, yeah.
