Yeah Wolves fukking sucked b. THey either blew out people or choked away games they should've won. The reason for that is because they sucked and were inconsistent. If love had a bad game, they lost, if he was absolute on fire, they won.

I don't think that's because he's such an outstanding player, I just think they were a horrible team and he was the one fakkit that stood out. I love Gorgui dieng's game a lot though ever since i saw him at Louisville. He'd be a great pick up if they can snag him, but yeah, I'm actually one of those guys that hated on Wiggins as a build-around piece, but if you got bron on your team it changes everything.

I say they keep him because I know firsthand that Love is not a guy I'd want to depend on to be that secondary or even tertiary safety valve on either end of the ball

Breh. The Timberwolves were literally the worst and easiest team to gamble on last season. It's either they won big or they lost every close game.

:upsetfavre: Trust me gawd, I know firsthand about the bolded. Throughout my NBA gambling career they're probably the team that's fukked me over the most. I can recall winning only one game in which they were involved.

@Walt great post, but TyGawd wasn't selected over Curry. Lawson was the 18th pick while Curry went 7th.

what does this even mean?

It's obvious he can't be a first option on a championship contender. He can't even make the playoffs but this team is shyt. Still, Chris Paul got some shyt teams to the playoff. Chris Bosh did too. The West is loaded but he had Adelman catering to him like Webber in Sacto and it couldn't get done. The team suffered without him because they obviously are terrible, but also because they were so dominant on that highpost offense via Love. No one else could run it.

I get that we are in the Era of compiling superteams. I just don't see him making players better around him. Lebron could win a title as an alpha, he just didn't have help. He made people around him money even if they sucked because he created situations where his teammates excelled. Kevin Love has done that to who? Argue Pekovic? Pekovic's a talent in his own right.

I don't deny his talent. I think Kevin Love is a top-10 Talent in the league. But I don't think you can win a title unless you have a Top-5, transcendent player (MJ, Duncan, Kobe, Shaq, Wade, Dream, Lebron) or a Hall of Fame Coach (Pop, Brown, Jackson, Riley) with a wealth of talent, and even then often both are needed. You can compare Kevin Love to Dirk, but I doubt Minnesota will ever have the resources that Dallas did, the management, or hire that caliber of a coach. It took years to surround Dirk with the proper talent and coaching. Love may never and probably won't ever get that lucky no matter where he goes. KG/Pierce needed two other superstars, and even then all three shared responsibility.

I don't see that it is possible for Love to find two other stars in this market where he would remain the team's A-player and compete for the championship. A team like the Spurs is a once-in-a-lifetime anomaly. The Warriors, Bulls or Cavs are the fits, and he'd defer to Curry (and pieces), Rose (with Noah as a perfect cover for his defense) and James (and probably watching Irving dominate other possessions) in each of those scenarios.

No shame in not being the alphadog on a champion. McHale, Dumars, old Kareem, Wade, Pippen, Young- Kobe, Old Shaq, Allen, Pippen, Parker, Old Duncan, Clyde have done the same and are hall of famers. But all those guys couldn't get it done at that point of their careers as the main cog. Neither can Love from what I've seen.

Of course the headline player couldn't get it done without the others. But it was clear who was in charge and who was the best option. I don't see Love as that on a title contender.

Love reminds me of Barkley in terms of the situation he's in. Barkley had two straight seasons as the man with a sad ass supporting cast, got himself in a better situation, and immediately went to the Finals.
Of course, Love doesn't remind me of Barkley in terms of talent. Love doesn't have Chuck's avility to get to the rim at will. Barkley had a stretch of six straight seasons during which he shot between 57% and 60% from the floor. At 6'6.
:wow:

Love can't get his own shot, but he has moves on the block, range to keep the defense honest, and good (though overstated) court vision. He rebounds like a beast. As you said, nothing wrong with being an elite secondary piece.
