My favorite sample is Spinnin. You'll know why once you hear it if you not familiar with his music.

I honestly thought this was original. Silly me.

Who do you love

The “Who Do You Love” R&B keyboardist and songwriter Bernard Wright reportedly died Thursday (May 19) at age 58, according to SoulTracks.
“On behalf of the family of Bernard Wright (Nard), We are saddened to announce that yesterday Bernard has been called home to the Most High. Many thanks for everyone's support, encouragement, and prayers for Nard throughout the years,” SoulTracks quoted bandleader Billy "Spaceman" Patterson.
“Please keep the family in your thoughts and prayers through this difficult time. Our hearts are heavy and our faith is strong. To be absent from the body is to be present with The Lord! LOVE! Rest In Power, Nard.”

right’s godmother is iconic R&B singer Roberta Flack, and he found success early in life as an instrumentalist and songwriter. At age 13, he toured with Lenny White and played with Tom Browne, according to Udiscovermusic.com. In 1981, Wright, then 18, released his debut LP ‘Nard, which became a huge hit on the jazz charts. Most music lovers would know him best for his massive single, “Who Do You Love,” from this 1985 album Mr. Wright.

I don’t know about that but I will say he was a very talented musician. It’s a shame that his talent wasn’t recognized and utilize as it could’ve been.

What’s sad is that more rappers don’t reach out to these older musicians for production. There’s a knowledge gap there and a lot of information that could be put to use.

I think a lot of old-school cats always looked down on rappers sampling their shyt and sued the hell out of them for doing it.

Now, the cats that were open to collaborating with rappers like George Clinton, Roger Troutman, and the Isley Brothers were always on other cats' records

Just lost some more Dr.Dre respect....changed nothing just like "G-thang"... on another note tho, this dude got some nice slaps in that pocket I like from the 80s. A rainy Friday night vibe.
