International chains that are American-owned siphon off wealth from these countries, they need their own national brand, keeping some capital in the state itself

I'll tell you what though.. the KFC and McDonald's I had in Egypt was a lot better than I'd find right here at home. And I never eat from those chains here.
One time I was getting sick of falafel, white cheese, eggs and pita for breakfast and took a trip to McDonald's for some hot cakes and hash browns.
The cashier personally wiped the table down and then brought the food to my table.
Another week I drank a milkshake every day cause I was craving it. The chicken Big Mac they got was

.So the best you can hope is the quality is like that in Sub-Saharan Africa. I walked a lot in Cairo too, so probably between that, less portions and better quality food I lost weight over there.
Ya'all are all mistaken, coli resident corporate shrill @David_TheMan insists that fast food is as healthy as any other food and is not related to obesity in any way whatsoever.
Not that that would be a bad thing, because obesity also isn't related to poor health or shortened lifespan either.

I haven't patronized restaurant with drive through and formica tables in nearly a decade(aside from Chick Fila for Waffle Fries with one polynesian and buffalo sauce). It could have at least been Bojangles or Popeyes
Wish joints like Roscoe or Dames Chicken and Waffles would franchise and go global. Was in a rideshare pool once near the Murrland side of DC with some random chick that killed a KFC box; couldn't wait 15 minutes to her destination before devouring that shyt, slurping noises and all. Think she was offended when I asked the driver to roll down the windows in the dead of winter. I hate that my people have been reduced to this shyt.

This isn't news. In poor countries fast food isn't cheap, so they actually raise the quality to make it upscale.
I was shocked when i looked up the obesity rates in a lot African countries a few months back.
