No doubt a black QB would never get that kind of deal with so little resume but we were fukking DESPERATE for a starter quality QB at that time. And the Jimmy from 2017 was a lot more mobile so everyone was OK with giving him a long term deal because he was finally a QB we could build on.

The money we gave him took everyone aback too but then we learned we could cut him after year three and we had a lot of cap space so it wasn't hurtful at the time. In 2017 we weren't thinking Superbowl, we just wanted a team that was worth a damn. shyt, we weren't thinking Superbowl in 2019, that run kinda happened out of nowhere.

As you said, it just shows how the bar is so low when you are desperate to get something going. If we are able to get a good pick out of him it's gonna be the same process for the team that gets him too.

Never liked it. You end up living in qb purgatory with moves like that.

I don't care if we take a step back next year and go 7-10 whatever.. it's time to see Trey and Jimmy has to go obviously we can't win a SB being so limited at QB
Trey is going to have growing pains, no doubt. We just need to see him get better as the year goes on. It's gonna be rough at first, though. Looks like we have the NFC South and the AFC West on the schedule next year along with the Bears, Dolphins, and the Football Team.

If we get the NFC South teams early, Trey can have growing pains but we can probably win those games running the ball and playing solid D. The AFC West games are where we'll need to push the ball down the field consistently.

Bruh, I am so numb. We had chance after chance to ice this game. Not mad about the season but I wanted this win. I really think we could have had Lombardi #6
I feel the same. This season was such a roller coaster emotionally I’m drained. The margin for error was so small but I wanted this one. When the Chiefs lost I just knew this was our chance but we couldn’t muster that one last game. The future is bright with Trey though. fukked up part is the fans aren’t gonna give this kid the patience he needs to grow
