I'm from San Diego

my mom's best friend was "Miss Wendy" growing up...neighbors parents were Miss or Mister and then the first name.

My mom is one of 12 though so we had enough aunts and uncles growing up

that's common here in the states for kids addressing parents' friends/peers, "miss joyce" "mister justin".

just from my observations it's the older generation that does it, 50's/60's born. most of my uncles and my mother refer to my grandmother by her first name

people I know in their 20's-30's I've very rarely heard it

I been calling my pops by his street name ( not his real name) since I was a kid and my pops allowed it.

When I heard Pimpin Ken speaking on how his pops demanded his kids call him by his street name and why his pops demanded it...I understood.
