I don’t need context. Telling a child not to dream big is insane. What does it mean to be president, in general? It means you have to be accomplished and smart. So it means working hard at school. It means being able to read very well, and speak well. It means focusing on helping people.

You can spin wanting to be president into all types of positive shyt for a child to focus on. And in the likely case that they don’t become president, they’re hopefully still reaching those other goals that will make them successful in life. In short you treat it like anything else a child tells you they want to do when they grow up. Work hard, don’t give up, help people in need, be honest, etc. I don’t care if the kid wants to be in the NBA or a doctor, my advice is gonna be similar.
