This is like the Warriors taking Wiseman type of bad. Such a franchise back breaking trade.

I knew this was going to happen.
Haliburton is going to get vastly overrated because he's the best player on this Pacers team. The Pacers play in weak Eastern conference, while the Kings play in a loaded Western conference.
Haliburton has played slightly better than Sabonis since the trade, slightly.
Also, the key to postseason success in the NBA now is depth and health. The Pacers (and OKC) have deep playoff rosters and have been able to get through the playoffs relatively healthy.

Haliburton was playing elite before his injury last year. He hasn't played to quite that level since. He's been very good at points but there's a reason why his peers voted him the most overrated player in the league this year.
He was voted the most overrated because he rubs folks the wrong way. It's as simple as that. There's something about his demeanor/personality/face that is unlikeable. It's why he receives a ton of unwarranted hate from the public too, not really due to his play, but how he's perceived.

He's levels above Sabonis as a player, that it's not even remotely an argument.

Sabonis is the type who only manages to fool those who run to the box score and make up a narrative from his stats.

I disagree. I watch a lot of Pacers games and his play fell off significantly after his injury last year, to the point many of us wondered if he was still injured.
The Pacers are having a nice playoff run, but Tyrese averaged 18 points and 9 assists this year. And its not just stats, he isn't playing a well as he was before his injury.

Also want to point out that the Pacers and the Kings basically had the same record last year (1 win difference). And the year before that the Kings won 48 games and the Pacers only won 35.

Going from having two young studs under 25 to rebuilding in the matter of 3 years is just about as on brand for the kings organization as it gets :picard:
