When you give that much of a bag to a player, youd at least should tell him what the plan is going forward, and obviously plan was to pick a QB in the early first.
On the other hand, I'm not sure what the expectation was realistically. Cousins is old, immobile and after a huge injury which further impeded his mobility. NFL is a cutthroat business, and he had to at least sense they would draft a young QB relatively early. It ain't even a Rodgers/Love situation, cuz Cousins has no mvps rings or body of work of Arod, and he was clearly brought in as a FA bridge qb for a couple of years.
