Here is my problem with them franchising Cousins:

The Franchise tag is used to keep a player from signing elsewhere if you cant come to an agreement with them while you work things out. AINT NO OTHER TEAM OUT THERE TRYING TO THROW MONEY AT COUSISNS :mindblown:
Why the fukk would Redskins franchise him if there really isnt a market for him out there?

Name me a team that would throw big money at Cousins right now. Dont worry i'll wait/ :rudy:

c'mon bruh, you know there are teams that would throw money at this dude.

this is actually the fiscally responsible thing they are doing. Franchise him now, suck up the big salary and if he balls out next year you give him the salary he wanted this year, if he flops then you release him, trade him or lowball him.

he's still better than 12-15 other qbs out there.

wouldn't be surprised to see the Bills or Jets try go for him either.

Edit: wouldn't be surprised to see Broncos or Eagles either....

The franchsise tag was the best move. They didn't agree to a contract. Tag him for a year and have him prove himself next season. He'll have a 1st place schedule to prove himself. I don't think it'll go well but we'll see
Thats how I see it. Next year draft will have better QBs. If he bombs out, dont resign him and draft a qb.

Cleveland doesnt count.

None of the others would. Again, i said who would go into a bidding war. Sure they'd make an offer to kick the tires off the guy. But actually be willing to seriously outbid another team for him? :comeon:

I mean... I tend to give the benefit of a doubt to these clown since they do get paid handsomely to make these decisions. :yeshrug:

I'm having this same argument with Jets fans and their Fitz love. He can't beat good teams and they still celebrate him beating the Patriots B-team

Fitz is really weird to me. I like him as a QB, more than most even, but I wouldnt want him as my Quarterback.

Fitz is just solid enough to give you hope. That's his primary problem. You know the floor is gonna fall out with him, but you're never sure when and when it does happen it's gonna be soul crushing

The problem ain't the GMs. It's the owners. Usually, the GMs are smart enough and have enough scouts to tell them someone is garbage, but when you got a billionaire watching highlights and wants some cat because ESPN is hyping him what can you do? You gonna draft his ass like Ray Farmer did Johnny. It's easier to spot which owners stay out of that shyt because their teams are the ones that usually win.
