It's a near perfect album, I think it's so tired and predictable to sing the praises of 'Trilogy' or any of his prior work, and discount this...this is evolution and growth, plus diversification, it's also a major label release, it's cleaner, tighter, less experimental, more defined and concise, it also shows a more mature and insightful Weeknd, then we have previously seen, who looks at himself as much as he looks at the women, the production is mostly sparse and restrained, perfect backdrop for stripped down vocals, showcasing lyrics that are sexual and provocative, as well as haunting and regretful..it's exactly the album I wanted, without even realizing it, as I never gave much thought to HOW it would sound...Weeknd is an artist, not just a one note singer, for dudes to live out their drugged up misogyny/models on coke fantasies, his music is from the heart, emotionally compelling and relatable, if you can't feel the disconnect and acceptance of 'Tears In The Rain', or the lust and desperate seduction of 'Love In the Sky', or the casual cynicism of 'Wanderlust', the eloquent pain and beauty of 'Professional'.....I don't know what to fukking tell you....
