Love this album. Personal classic. GOAT 5%/Nuwabian album. I played the fukk out of the tape back in the days. Zevluv X was one the very best and most overlooked lyricists back before he put on a mask and became a hipster hero.

Album was always on the level of One For All, Breaking Atoms, De La Soul Is Dead, the first ATCQ...anything out at the time to me.

Heard it years later - but it's amazing. Very overlooked and underrated.

That album was criminally overlooked. Zevluv X was always kind of a weird nikka even before he was MF Doom. Not as accessible as say fellow god squad members Brand Nubian. He actually could rap better than them though. He wrote that dude Onyx's lyrics too.

I wonder what would have happened if Doom campaigned for the album when he was at the peak of his popularity in say 03?

He was still spitting that "rhetoric" during his DOOM reinvention.

I thought the album was kinda corny with a few joints at the time. Def not on the level of the albums mentioned in first post at all. I had a hard time hearing/understanding what they were saying. Mad zany.

I knew it was smart, I loved the mr hood character getting the haircut, who me was great....but lots of the songs just didn't jam to me.

White people love that shyt. Ask Dead Prez.
Dead Prez was talking that rebellious militant revolutionary shyt though. That appeals to alienated white kids who hate their parents.

KMD was calling white people mutant cave dwellers who will die from sunlight. :heh: That's not as easy to digest.

Yeah i agree. The first single Peachfuzz was great and had me geeked for the album. When it dropped I was disappointed.

I liked the singles 'Who Me' 'Peachfuzz' and the Mr.Hood Skits other than that I thought the album was kinda unremarkable but you could see the potential was there Zev's lyrics have always been crazy

It's a damn shame 'Black b*stards' didn't come out back in the day....that album is a personal classic of mine blows 'Mr.Hood' right out of the water....RIP Subroc...his production on BB is light years ahead of its time....
