He also won a title without them :mjpls:
Yeah with David Robinson in a lockout year where he faced the 8th seed in the finals. :sas1:

"It was a shortened season, there should be some kind of asterisk next to that title in the record book to reflect that." - Phil Jackson (1999)

“You want to have a season that is comparable to what it is like to play a season of basketball,” Jackson said. ” The year they patched together [1998-99 season] when they played 50 games they lost more than a third of the season and then they rushed to play those games into a magnified schedule and it questioned the teams that were really going to have a chance to win it like Indiana and Utah.

“New York finished 8th that year and obviously an up-and-coming San Antonio team, which turned out to be quite a great team, but those were the teams that ended up in the finals. When teams would play 18-19 games in the last month of the season it broke down some of the older steady teams because of that impact of a heavy schedule.

“I always kind of term that as an asterisk season out of this fun at poking fun at San Antonio. In reality it changes the complexity of how you play the game and what you make your team up with. You have to have young players and you have to have healthy players to win. So they want to have a representative season and we have some terrific teams in the NBA right now and there are some teams that are very, very good. It should be interesting to see how a lot of them come out and a lot of teams don’t want to lose that opportunity.” - Phil Jackson (2011)

Still never played with anyone as good as Shaq, and never ran anyone out of town half as good as him either. They swept the Lakers that year too :russ:

Plus, he's never been on the worst team in the West, which Kobe currently is the captain of :dead:

No one's gonna read what Kobe is actually jealous about, which is what I've said numerous times on here. Duncan's had the most stable franchise in the league and one coach for his entire career. You could argue no player in league history has had a better situation than Duncan.

Kobe was gift wrapped a prime Shaq, Bynum, Gasol, Howard. Its his fault for chasing them all out of town. He also had jerry buss and phil jackson, the goat owner and goat coach. If they needed an upgrade, they went out and bought guys like malone, payton, metta, nash. Give Duncan that situation and they win 10. kobe feuded with everyone if they threatened his limelight and now hes left with no one. He did it to himself. Learn to gel with your teammates.:manny:

It's not Kobe's fault that he had Mike D'Antoni as coach and getting injured in 2012.
How can Kobe win when he's 39 and playing with a bunch of role players now? Duncan has a HoF coach; with a great bench and AS PG at 37.

ok COOL but TIm Duncans has NEVER played with a team as poor as the 05-06 Lakers. He has never had to endure a starting line up with Smush "Wire extra" Parker and Kwame "fat fakkit azz " Brown
Speedy Claxton was playing crunch time minutes in '03.
