Dog...I remember posting in sohh along with others at how revolutionary it was for them to sign those three year deals and that these young players today were so much smarter than those from the past.
Them dudes had foresight. They even anticipated the labor trouble and got one more contract under the more favorable previous CBA. I remember them trying to convince Melo to do the same, but he slept and wound up in a bad situation when he wanted to leave Denver. He couldn't really dictate where to go because of his contract situation/cba uncertainty. If the Knicks didn't step up with the package he would've been "stuck" in NJ.
So with rings being how we perceive overall greatness amongst the elite, would it be fair for kobe stans to admit MJ is greater?
or is that battle still being fought?
Uh... Melo was one of the last ones to re-up his money before Billy Hunter threw the NBAPA in the bushes.
Lets be real, championships are a big part of the game, so that's why Kobe's 5 rings & 1 MVP is better than lebrons 1 ring & 3 mvps:Russ:
It matters when comparing legends of the game. As great as Barkley and Malone were, the biggest reason why Duncan is considered better is becuz he has 4 rings to their zero

Uh...he's considered better than them because he's more of a complete player than they were.
HIm not having a ring wouldn't change that.
I didn't say THE ONLY reason. I said the biggest reason. But sure if you wanna say he's better then cool.
Kinda hard to disagree.
