its technically cheating the system unless you're just reconstructing youre contract to receive more money down the line or your current play doesnt justify your check, which you see alot of in the NFL

the NBA cap isnt desgined to have 3 max players on a roster, its actually tries to prevent that..Bron and his buddies just took the smart route and all took pay cuts so it could work, it is what it is

LeBron, D-Wade and Bosh all took less money this summer so that the team could re-sign Udonis Haslem. The Miami Herald has the details of how it all went down: “The Denver Nuggets and Dallas Mavericks were offering him $34 million, and Haslem was telling his buddy Dwyane Wade by text that all his good time in Miami was now done. Haslem knew Miami didn’t have enough money remaining to compete with Dallas and Denver after signing James, Wade and Chris Bosh, and he couldn’t take a one-year minimum contract in Miami with his ill mother dying and family members to support … Wade called Bosh and asked him to cut $15 million off his salary for Haslem. Wade called James and asked him to do the same. Bosh and James barely knew Haslem. Just a few short conversations here and there. But Wade told them this team needed someone hungry and gritty and unselfish like Haslem, and promised to cut $17 million out of his own contract to make it happen, too. ‘They said ‘I’m in’ without hesitating,’ Wade said Sunday. What? ‘No questions asked,’ Wade said. None? ‘Not one,’ Wade said. ‘They respected UD as a player. And they trusted me as a leader and friend.’”

How weak of these 3 to do that. Completely cheated the system, they should be ashamed

Did he take the max allowable salary?

No, he took a paycut

Stop trolling
No, he did not. But there is no state income tax in Florida so he is still taking home the same amount of money if he had re-signed in Cleveland for the max. That's my point.

this wasnt happening regardless...Bosh didnt want Cleveland, and Wade was looking at Chicago before staying in Miami...the 3 of them teaming up in Cleveland was never a possibibilty, its Bron who decided to leave Cleveland (fair game) and team up with them in Miami

The 3 of them were signing together regardless. The only question was where. This was established back in 2007. So Bron didn't "join" or "tag along" or however yall lames try to paint it. The 3 of them made this decision years in advance and the only question, if it even was a question, was where.

One things for sure they weren't signing with Broke Back Mountain so you were destined to be mad, fakkit. :umad:

No...it has nothing to do with being a "stan." It's just dumb to act like Bron taking a pay cut invented getting praised for it.

You've seen it and never had a problem until Bron received praise for it.

I don't have a problem with him taking a paycut, you aren't reading you're just seeing red

I have a problem with people spinning him taking a paycut to stack a team for easy championships into him being a competitor. I've stated that very clearly

If I'm hating then you're dikkriding

He can be praised for taking a paycut, but you can't spin that into him being a competitor. I'm not saying he's not a competitor.....but taking less money with the sole purpose of being able to stack a team is the opposite of being a competitor. How anyone could say otherwise is beyond me

I'm not discounting anything he's done, but what y'all are arguing is silly

:heh::deadmanny:

dude can't even get his story straight.

What part of the Hornets had a deal in place with the Lakers before the draft don't you understand?

Just googled "did kobe want to play for the hornets" and the first 5 links all said Kobe didn't want to play for the hornets or basiclly forced a trade.

Please link me to Kobe saying he was willing to play were every he was drafted.
